I would rather someone cry then when something actually does happen than cry now not knowing anything about whats going to happen.

Well said sir... Well said

I see you wanting a linebacker but I feel like we could get a Devonte Holloman in the later rounds to help cover against certain teams/sets. However it doesn't matter who our linebackers are if we do not generate a rush. If we wanted Abe we would have never cut him.
not true. The Falcons could just be waiting Abe out until they are the only offer standing.

AARP squad!

I said it about the first round, and ill say it about this round too. If we get a LB it will be a mistake.

To those who believe that a 35+ DE will be something that can make our pass rush much better is not thinking. You have to develop young guys to get after the passer.

That said I give the Trufant pick a B+. I think Trufant was the most NFL ready CB of all the first round prospects. Milliner has injury issues and didnt do much against better passing teams in college. Also bama cb's that have gone high the lasy few years have been terrible in the NFL. Rhodes is really raw. And if I see a guy as big as him afraid to be physical, I question his motivation. He slipped for a reason.

I think that DE was just as big of need as CB, but the only one that was worth taking was Werner. However, Trufant can come in and start and has Asante like attributes. He can be a solid player at worst or a super star at best. I do think giving up a ,3rd and 6th was a bit much because you can't miss with your 2nd and 4ths. And we need depth. I think with those 3 picks you have to go DE, LB, and OG. I think TE will have to wait till the 5th barring a guy u love falls to you.

Overall I like the pick. And im glad CB has been addressed with a guy who isnt an experiment.

Should go out and pick up Marcus. Have the Rodgers brother and the Trufant brothers.

Dimitroff notes:

- Trufant targeted from very beginning
- Came down to two positions
- Trufant is the complete package
- They thought he'd be gone by the late teens
- Thinks he can come in and contribute on the right side
- Defense is the focus, will likely be the second pick
- Don't expect them to get back into the third, not willing to move future picks to do so
- Expect more moves, likely on day three
- One of the deepest drafts for defensive lineman
- Defensive line usually do not put up big numbers as a rookie
- Door not closed on Abe returning
- Dimitroff looked at trading partners for a month, Les Snead (St. Louis) was his first call
- A couple of picks before 22, St. Louis was considering other moves
- Dimitroff started looking for other partners, then Les called him back and said deal was a go
- Thought Snead and Dave Caldwell made good moves
- Track needs of other needs
- It's tough to be patient in this league
- Would Trufant and Rhodes be gone at 30? "No question"
- Look for the Falcons to stay at 60, but willing to move a little bit
- 2 or 3 players are the target at 60

I actually think this is a good idea. A vet CB is definitely needed IMO. Right now, it looks something like:

LCB - Samuel, Franks
RCB - D.Trufant
NCB - McClain

Sign Marcus and then draft another CB late to compete with Franks.

LCB - Samuel, M.Trufant
RCB - D.Trufant, Franks or Rookie
NCB - McClain

Quote:
“I didn’t expect to cry,” Desmond Trufant said Thursday night after the Atlanta Falcons used the 22nd draft pick of the first round to welcome him into the NFL.

“I try to be a tough guy, but it’s been such a long wait, with so much hard work, I just couldn’t help it.”

“They loved me throughout the whole process,” he said. “They told me it was one of the best workouts they’d seen.” And their expending two other draft picks to trade up to get him “tells me they really saw something in me ... and I’m going to return the favor. I’m going to work hard and grind from day one.”

Love it.

I read on Twitter he gave his spot at the draft up to be there for a sick grandparent.

Has he already picked 21?

Deion's number was retired at the ring of honor game I think

Chris Owens has been wearing 21, but now that he's gone IDK if that number's going to be "retired" or what.

Well, looked this up:

"Ring of Honor"
Note: The Atlanta Falcons organization does not officially retire jersey numbers.
10 Steve Bartkowski, QB, 1975–1985
21 Deion Sanders, CB, 1989–1993
31 William Andrews, RB, 1979–1983, 1986
57 Jeff Van Note, C, 1969–1986
58 Jessie Tuggle, LB, 1987–2000
60 Tommy Nobis, LB, 1966–1976
78 Mike Kenn, T, 1978–1994
87 Claude Humphrey, DE, 1968–1978

BUT, I'll say this, all those other numbers are NOT in use EXCEPT 87 (Claude's) which is used by Tommy Gallarda.

And go out and sign Jordan Babineaux for S depth.

Haha, that'd be funny but I think TD will draft a safety instead.

Liking this guy even more after watching his presser. Humble and hungry. He almost has a Julio Jones-type attitude/work ethic about him
