Don't start crying when our defense fails us once again.

I also like the Trufant pick but think we could have stayed at #30 and still gotten a great corner. We didn't even get good trade value like every other team seems to be getting this year. I HATE having to give up a 3rd rounder in this situation.

TD has done a lot of great things for this team but he does seem to fall in love with one guy every year and give up valuable picks in order to move up and get him. Sometimes it works (Julio) but, in this case, I don't think I would have given up a 3rd and 6th just to guarantee that I got Trufant. Maybe the Falcons got wind of the Vikings or someone else wanting Trufant. But since TD does this pretty much every year, I just think he gets tunnel vision and goes a little overboard to secure his guy.

Giving up a 3rd and a 6th isn't the end of the world and maybe Trufant really does end up being worth it. I just wish the Falcons could be a little more flexible when it comes to drafting. It's okay to draft for "best player available" sometimes. Trading back to get more picks can be a really productive strategy as well.

If we'd have gotten Trufant at #30, I would have given this pick an A-.

With the expensive trade in consideration, I give it a B. I'm excited for Trufant but a little frustrated as well.

We had 11 picks this year. We don't even have that many roster spots available. We can afford to trade up to get a guy that will help us win THIS year. And all we gave up was one of the last picks in the third and sixth. How many of those guys pan out?

Well 4 of those 11 are at the very end of the draft and would have to prove a lot to make the team anyway.

A 3rd round pick is a lot different in my view.

But honestly, I think maybe I've seen too many mock drafts with us getting Trufant at #30 and it just "feels" like we overpaid for him. Mocks can really mess with your head sometimes.

I really do like Trufant and think he'll do well for Atlanta.

I would rather someone cry then when something actually does happen than cry now not knowing anything about whats going to happen.

No, I just picked that. I tried #23, but it wouldn't let me because of his brother. Laughing

Gotta love to hear his emotion. Can't wait to see him in Black and Red.

You guys are high. I love this pick.

This.

Trufant is gonna be a great player for us. His only real knock is consistency being physical (which I don't even really buy into). Our coaching, combined with practicing against Roddy and Julio everyday, combined with the fact that he already has two older bros in the NFL... I just can't see him busting. He'll make an immediate impact if he stays healthy.

GREAT pick!!! Fits our scheme great. I love it! If we were to get my favorite defensive end now in Okafor I would probably cry like a 7 year old girl. Lol. #LetsGetIt #DirtyBirdNation

I'd prefer to go LB round 2 and bring abe back. We can get a speed rush lb like sio moore who can generate pass rush or cover in nolans d. what is most likely to happen is talent-wise there will be better LBers than there are DE.

DE or DT. I have never really wanted an early LB, especially now with no third.

I see you wanting a linebacker but I feel like we could get a Devonte Holloman in the later rounds to help cover against certain teams/sets. However it doesn't matter who our linebackers are if we do not generate a rush. If we wanted Abe we would have never cut him.

How about getting Okafor/D.Moore in the 2nd then going and getting a guy like Zavier Gooden in the 4th? Just a thought. Given none of the three may be there at those spots. But given the way the draft is just kinda doing what we want it to, I wouldn't be surprised.
