How bout Jones or Schwenke in the 3rd and trade for Albert?

Albert----Cooper----Jones----Levi----Massie

Just wow...

I'd rather just go with Armstead to be honest. Sounds crazy but I don't want to hand out a huge contract to another OL when we already have arguably 3 OL who aren't earning their paychecks (Levi, Colledge, Snyder).

Albert would replace Colledge/Snyder's money. I like Armstead as well though...

Rams fan here. I had Warmark ranked higher than Cooper, but if Cooper is who they wanted, then it was a good pick. I think people will be ripping you guys for taking a guard at #7, but guards are very important. I like the pick.

With the options available, it was a good pick and a good decision. I would have loved a trade down but that very well may not have been an option. It's not a sexy pick but it was necessary.

Thanks. I did it in a hurry but you pretty much know what you're getting in Cooper so there wasn't much to write.

What would you grade the pick Khodder?

B-B+ a good pick, fills a big need, really good player.

I was surprised how the top 6 turned out, good pick no complaints. Not flashy but good value and pick for the future.

Nice get.

we filled our biggest need, and did not have to reach to do it. Cooper seems to be in just about everybody's top ten. But more importantly, I promised myself in the middle of last year that if we did not adress the o-line in round one...I would never watch the team again. I even said that I didn't care how unflashy the pick would be...it just needed to be done. And taking a guard with the 7th pick is certainly not flashy, but it needed to be done.

So this is definatly a good night for me.

From Darren Urban on azcardinals.com:

"Keim said there was some talk of trading, but that the Cards had picked their top five players that they wanted to stay put at seven for, and Cooper was one of those players".

http://www.azcardinals.com/news-and-events/article-2/Cardinals-Take-Jonathan-Cooper-First/3de51bf1-cb28-4c67-97c3-cddae62b378f

I'm guessing Mingo wasn't in our top 5 then. If that's the case, I'm glad the Browns took him at 6 because I would have been very upset if we passed on him at 7.

Hey guys, I think you got a very solid player. IMO Cooper has the potential to be one of the elite guards in the NFL. I have always been amazed with how Chance Warmack never got much criticism (I can't seem to remember) I felt Cooper was better all-around than Warmack back when Cooper was an afterthought. I think you have a future All-Pro on your hands along the offensive line. Congrats.

Previous drafts...........

Ryan Leaf - Can't miss.
Tom Brady - Who?

Maybe Cooper is the real deal, maybe he's not. One full season and then we'll know. I hope he ends up more than deserving of the 7th pick.

Introduced myself a while back, so here I am - as a partly Cards follower from afar - adding my two cents on the matter. Cooper at 7 is one of my favorite picks of the 1st round. I liked him more than Warmack because he is more versatile in terms of schematics. Of course one could have perhaps traded down a few spots for Cooper, but - as always in the draft - if one likes a prospect there is no shame of picking it where one sees fit. The Titans were in on him as well. Cooper is going to be an outstanding centerpiece to AZ's OL for the next decade and more and as a nice little cherry on top, his persona and character are high quality as well. Solid, sound, sensible, prudent inaugural pick by the new regime.

Heard Cooper on Doug & Wolf, asked if he was a LG and he said he was a "Guard" played and Center. So what is the line going to be?

Brown-Colledge-Sendlien-Cooper-Massie

do we trade a 2014 for Albert?

Great player who likes to dictate where he is and isn't going to play. Maybe if the Chiefs put him on the block he'll realize that he in actuality dispensable. That said, I'd love that trade.
