I'm sorry, but when is the last time a Super Bowl winner had a top 5 LT?

I don't know how I feel about the pick....people have said that Ireland plays it too safe....well I guess that is out the window...

Dion Jordan, Welcome to Miami....listen to the vets....work your tail off and knock the mess out of the QBs

TREMENDOUS trade value. I just question the pick. Not sure I see Jordan's value as a 4-3 DE.

I like what I see overall with Jordan a lot. His measurables are off the charts. I worry about his mediocre career number of sacks, but his skill set is ridiculous.
Most of all hats off to Ireland for killing it in the compensation game. Radiers got nothing to move down to 12. I keep thinking they are going to announce more that wasn't reported. Just incredible.

You my friend are an idiot.

Then I am an idiot too. All day every day. You can have the best LT ever to play the game and all teams have to do is put their best DE on the other side. An elite pass rusher is the second most important position on the team and now we have two of them. How many teams in the playoffs had one or two elite pass rushers and how many had elite LT's?

How many of those elite pass rushers are undersized DEs? A DE whos not even 250 and you trade up to 3 for him!? He wouldve been there at 12 and if he wasn't this is the deepest draft to get pass rushers. Picking a 3-4 OLB when we run a 4-3 is stupid and proof this franchise has no clue what they are doing. Jordan didnt even play the majority of the game at Oregon. He wouldve been there at 12!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Jordan would have been gone at 4.
yup or the browns at 6 and the way the draft went jets probably too

I agree. No way Jordan was making it to 12.

He likely was gone at 4 had we not selected him.

Jordan was a consensus top 5 pick....if Ireland went for it...if the picks pans out could Ireland be turning into a good to very good GM (by comparison look at what the rams gave up to move up to where they did....)

What did the Rams give up?

I'm stunned by how little we gave up, to be honest. Yes, that second rounder was valuable but still...

I really like the pick and love the value of the trade. We filled so many holes in free agency, we can afford to move up for an elite talent at an impact position.

Plus people cry about our second round picks, so lets just skip the round all together. Trade the 2nd for a 3rd and 4th ;o.

By addressing the pass rush problem in Miami, we also address the talent drain in the secondary. Increased pass rush, decreases the seconds needed to cover opposing players. I think that is my favorite thing about adding Jordan.

After the shock, I like the pick. Will he be a DE or OLB? I don't know. Guy reminds me a lot of Jason Taylor.

Also, Ireland robbed Oakland per the value chart. Oakland took 520 points less for value. Love that.

How about lining up in this pass-rushing 3-4 front on 3rd down:

Wake (OLB) - Odrick (DE) - Soliai (NT) - Starks (DE) - Jordan(OLB)

--------------------Wheeler (ILB) - Ellerbe (ILB)-----------------------

Wow. Great pick. At first, I was a little upset seeing Miami's name pop up next to that #3. I thought we were gonna trade up to 3 for Lane which would have been a huge mistake. I know he went the next pick at 4, but IMO, he's not worth that much. We took Dion instead and I took a big exhale. lol

Ireland is really impressing me this offseason. NOTHING about this pick is safe, but the reward that can come from it is worth the risk. We're talking about a guy who is 6'6 248 lbs running a 4.6 flat. A guy who can drop back and blanket TEs and then the next play, put his hand in the dirt and rush the passer. And the fact that it only cost us one pick to move up from 12 to 3 is outstanding value.

Im honestly excited about this pick. A front four of possibly Wake - Starks - Soliai - Jordan is very intimidating.
