I think you're a little too critical of Saffold. He's not Joe Thomas but he's a solid starter at OT(both sides)...has his flaws. We'll see how he plays at OG.

His rookie year he was a top tackle in the league. He only allowed one sack all year.

Disagree with that. That was more due to how quickly we got the ball out.

Of the 34 sacks allowed that year.. He allowed 1. The 34 was the 18th most

That line was also comprised of players named Jacob Bell, Jason Brown, Adam Goldberg and Jason Smith. Laughing

And if I'm recalling correctly, he allowed 2 or 3 sacks that year.

I was more impressed by him in 2012 when he was healthy.

Haha true.. But no matter how you look at it, he had a great rookie year. 1-3 sacks for a rookie isn't easy.

PFF rates Robert Quinn as the best 4-3 DE in football, with a grade higher than the #2 and #4 DE's combined.

Step 1: Acquire truck full of money
Step 2: Give truck to Quinn

A truck? You'd only need the glove-box of a Fiat 500 to haul the Rams remaining cap money for a Quinn extension. Laughing

Dear god. What a collection of losers.

I probably am too critical of Saffold. I'd love him to move to guard and succeed. Some people may not realize this, but that is the position he was drafted to play. Alex Barron's atrocious play is what got Saffold a shot at tackle.

I truly believe that there is a real shot we resign him to play OG.

Probably depends on how the rest of the season goes at that spot.

Yea, he was drafted to play OG or RT and then ended up at LT because Jason Smith and Alex Barron...jeez. Our old FO(s) sucked.

His body type fits better at OG.

But his durability in his back and legs scare me.

Looks like Cortland Finnegan is not playing this week with an eye injury. I am so sick of this. He is one of the highest payed players in the league and has barely played this year and when he has it has been horrible. Cut him next year. He is using a big part of the cap.

I know it seems like an obvious decision, but he seems like one of Fisher's guys that he will keep around regardless.

I don't think so. I think he's gone unless he's willing to rework his deal and drop a significant amount of salary.
