Day 3 grades

Quanterus Smith: A
We all know that Q has been "my guy" since the first day of this process. If he reaches his potential he'll basically be an Elvis Dumervil clone. Real heads-up pick by John Elway.

Tarvarres King: B-
I'm on board with this selection. Misses out on a higher grade because there were a few other guys at his position that were higher up on my big board. But I can live with it. This is one of those picks that I'm just gonna trust John and the team on.

Vinston Painter: A
LOVE this pick! Hopefully we now have an effect understudy to Ryan Clady.

Taverres King wore #12 at UGA, what does that mean for Willis?

Oh Vinston Painter. I quite like that. He should beat out Chris Clark to be the backup LT.

Yeah I don't think that's happening right away but I agree that is the plan

Yeah, i'm thinking he's gone. Painters pretty solid and we can still stash garland on the PS while he develops.

Excellent value at this point.

Does this mean no more Manual Ramirez

Who is Juan. I would at least let Ramirez compete in TC.

These late rounds really are boring. Our last pick was over an hour and a half ago and there are still 23 picks before our next.

I'm thinking we should grab a Safety or a QB here. I can't see how we can pass on Tyler Bray.

Went out to eat Sushi, followed the picks via the Broncos app, let out a loud cheer when the Smith pick popped up. Awesome! Production in college is always so ubderrated once a prospect supposedly does not measure as well as he ideally should. Man, am I happy. Then I see that we got Philipps, too. Our pass rush has gotten so much better in the last couple of days. Miller, Wolfe, Sly, Philipps, Smith and yes, Ayers can all get after the QB with the best of them. Painter and King are solid developmental prospects, too. All in all, Elway really hit it out of the ballpark today, rounding out a good draft whom I know would grade with a B.

Looking at our OL roster

T - Clady, Franklin, Clark, Painter, Cornick
G - Vasquez, Beadles, Kuper, Ramirez, Davis
C - Walton, Blake, Saulsberry, Boren

I reckon we keep all 4 Tackles, unless Painter beats out Clark, in which case Clark will be cut. 3 of the Guards are assured roster spots as is Walton.

So basically
Clady
Franklin
Vasquez
Beadles
Walton
Kuper
Painter

Those guys are all virtually assured roster spots. Clark, Ramirez and Blake should compete for 2 spots, with Clark almost certain to nab one of them unless we think Painter is ready to be the swing tackle. Blake and Ramirez are basically competing to be the backup Center.

I would still like to see Koppen back. That guy was such a huge pickup last year.

I think it's something that might happen if he can't find a starting job elsewhere. He's probably holding it out to see if any of the center-needy teams don't find their guy on draft day, and then he might get an offer.

However if not he can come back on a cheap backup contract and maybe win a ring. He's a good guy. I think there would be mutual interest if he can't start elsewhere.

Btw,

Miami, the Giants and Steelers in typical fashion, Arians' premiere draft class in AZ, another good haul by the Bengals as well as the Vikings (not only based on their 1st round) all had magnificent drafts, IMO.

I am not impressed with what the Bears, Cowboys, Jets and Falcons have done.

We're up in a couple picks. I'm thinking we should either go Kevin Reddick, Tony Jefferson or one of the QBs Bray/Dysert/Scott
