Either at 6 or by trading down?

Ideally if they do it they'd be better off trading down, but what if they loved him so much that they took him at 6?

Time for a bridge jump?

They brought him to Cleveland last Monday and flew down to work him out yesterday...

I'm prolly the one guy who wouldn't mind it. He's smart, has all the intangibles, I think he is the best QB in the class with the most upside. I think his downfall at FSU was trying to do too much at times. The guy never had the offensive weapons to work with that he would have here. I doubt our mission is to take him at 6. I could see if we positioned ourself for a trade down where they would maneuver around to possibly take him.

All based on personal opinion but I would be so sad if we took him in either the first or second round.

I don't see a point in drafting any QB this year.

If they did, they'd better be right. They'd have an extremely short leash on this one. If he failed, they'd all be thrown out.

Qb's cost jobs.

Exactly how I feel, so you aren't alone. He's underwhelming on tape, but his abilities and his intelligence make up for it plenty. FSU was a defense first football team, and I really think that hurt him. They were not a good offensive team, but I plug that to the lack of weapons, not to Manuel.

If it were Heckert, I would have blind faith. He hit more on kids I questioned than missed. With the new front office I would be extremely skeptical. In a trade down situation, I would be fine taking him in the second round. But first I might be a little salty.

Trade down twice end up in the late teens or early twenties:
1- DJ Hayden, DB
2- E.J. Manuel, QB
2- Jaime Collins, OLB
3- Philip Thomas, S

That would be awesome.

We invest a first on a QB who was far from a finished product and had issues, and a year later we invest a first or second in another QB that also has numerous issues?

nug said it right.

I'd lose my mind. 30 years old or not, different regime or not, Weeden needs more than just one rookie year to win or lose the position considering his draft position.

He's good, then we're good. He's bad, then we're picking early in what could well be a much better QB class.

only way they can do this is if they trade down AND unload Weeds. This is the only thing which can be learned from the DA/BQ debacle... just unload the unproven incumbent... otherwise he plays with a chip on his shoulder and the whole things goes off a cliff.
