Jets and Bucs have already agreed on the trade, Revis and Bucs have agreed on basic contract, deal should be finalized by tonight or Mon AM

Permission for Darrelle Revis to undergo Bucs physical never would have been granted if NYJ and TB couldn't work out trade. So there's that.

Breakthrough: Jets have granted permission for CB Darrelle Revis to visit Tampa Bay and undergo a physical with the Buccanners, per sources.

The sides reached an agreement on a trade and if Revis passes the physical [coming off an ACL injury] the trade will be completed.

Ehhhh you reaching here Billy. All we know so far is he has taken a physical. I understand thats huge. But come on...

Everyone so far is being leery of saying a agreement has been reached for a reason.

On Schefter's second tweet he says that Revis wouldn't of undergone a physical if the sides didn't have a deal, it's not a reach, it's the report.

Thats not what it says

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 9m

Doesnt mean one has been reached. Means they probably will. Why dont we wait to confirm that a deal has been reached before saying one has?

It means that they reached an agreement on a deal that if Revis passes a physical, they can submit to the league to make it official.

A team doesn't send a player to take a physical on another team if he isn't going to be traded, the physical is just the last step before a deal is official, but a deal is in place, as Schefter said.

All of this is understood and yet none of this has been confirmed. Like I said there is a reason that everyone has been staying away from saying a deal has been reached so far.

I hate being a Jets fan... We can't have a great player, the very few times we get one they are shipped off...

Buc fans should be happy, you are getting a truly great player who will go down as one of the greatest CBs to ever play...

It doesn't mean that at all. It means they are close enough where they feel it won't be a problem. It does NOT mean a deal is already in place. Jumping the gun again.

Knew it was going to happen, but still rough. Interested in seeing the compensation, assuming it will be the 13th this year, another pick this year and a pick next year.

You guys are way too harsh in Billy, Schefter basically said that a deal is in place, and he's passing that on to us. If that's not concrete enough for you just leave the thread.

As for the actual topic now. I wish the Lions could afford to trade for him, too bad. The Bucs are getting a great player and the Jets are (likely) getting good compensation for him.

I would guess for a 2nd rd pick and maybe a future 1st. Id have a hard time believing that Tampa would give up pick 13, but who knows.

I can't remember where I seen it, but I remember someone mentioning that Tampa should keep their 2014 1st just in case Freeman doesn't pan out this season. That could be the case.
