My point, is, I can't see us trading up at all...but IF we did, I can;t imagine trading any higher than the AZ pick at 7, so trading up, down, or staying at 17, who are your top 5 YOU would love to see in B&G?

Mine?

Assumption for me is that Jordan, Joeckel, Fisher, Johnson, Star, and Smith are gone:

1. Ansah--huge boom or bust potential, which may cause him to slide past 6

2. Patterson--like I've said, scares me to death, but dude is just fun to watch

3. Jones--see the pattern here...all boom or bust, so far, with me.

4. Hopkins--love this guy; would be a great Red Zone threat, IMO. "Compares to: Reggie Wayne, WR, Indianapolis Colts - Like Wayne, Hopkins isn't the biggest or fastest, but he's able to manipulate his routes to create separation and is a reliable pass catcher with the body control, focus and competitive nature to finish."
Who wouldn't want that!!!

5. Carradine--Long arms, big hands, but injury concern, of course, but he's got the potential to be a stud, which really, at OLB, Ansah, Jones, and Carradine all have the makings to be great, just have some question marks.

At 7, the only 2 I am positive will be gone are Joeckel and Fisher. The latest Smith goes is 8 iMO.

Mine is very similar...

1. Ansah - I think Butler could make him dominant.
2. Star - True starting caliber nose tackle that can dominate
3. Hopkins - Best hands in the draft. Not flashy but does everything well.
4. Lane Johnson - Boom/Bust, but a true starting LT. Move Adams to RT and have Gilbert compete with Foster at guard.
5. Jarvis Jones - I dont care what people say about him, he is a beast. He does need some work but I think he will ultimately be great.

1. Star - He would be amazing in black and gold
2. Dee - He plays
3. Xavier Rhodes - I like him the entire time.
4. Manti Te'o - I'm probably the only one still willing to take him at 17
5. Hopkins - He has the makings of a A. Boldin type WR

For round 1, Xavier Rhodes, Chance Warmack, Jamar Taylor, Barkevious Mingo, are probably head and shoulders above any other realistic possibility at #17, IMO, and I wouldn't trade up for any of them. Now if Joeckel suddenly started to fall for some reason, I'd be on the phone.

Ansah, Star, Carradine, Jones, Millner. Really want a starting olb. If we don't Woodley and Worilds or whoever better step up.

Before the recent Hopkins news I felt our picks would come down to 3 likely candidates depending on how the draft fell.

Justin Hunter
Jarvis Jones
DeAndre Hopkins

If Star is there he'd have to be a consideration but I doubt it.

Cooper, really?

Dont get me wrong, he is a nice player and I respect your opinion, but I didnt expect him to be in anyone's top 5 given our need for impact players.

I can see scenarios where he ends up being the BPA by a wide margin at 17.

I think he is the best OL, not just OG, in the draft, so if Patterson, Eifert, and Carradine are all off the board he's who I go with.

This from a guy who absolutely doesn't want another IOL in the first. I just think he's too good to pass on if things fall that way.

Well, the OP said "top 5 from number 7 overall and down"...in case we shocked the world and traded up that high.

At 17, I see the reasoning....I was just confused that he was in your top 5 THAT high. Same with Carredine , but I know you are very high on him.

Star, Joeckel, Fisher, Jordan, and Johnson would be higher on my list, but I see no chance any of them last til 7. After that, the guys I mentioned are what I consider the best players available.

No real interest in Millner or Ansah.

Mingo/Austin would be right after Jones on my list. I like Warmack too, but want to see a more ZBS oriented approach.

1. Jarvis Jones-Fills our biggest need and is my favorite pass rusher in this draft. Don't care about his measurables, he's dominant on the field
2. Tavon Austin-Going to be an absolute stud. Mark my words on it
3. Star-Versatile piece that can dominate any position along the line
4. Ansah-Definitely won't last to us but immense potential and I have faith in our ability to develop linebackers but a bit too raw for my liking
5. Jesse Williams-Incredible athlete who I think is a bit underrated on these forums
