The fact that Cordarelle Patterson is #12 on a big board indicates that we have failed as a society.

Concurred!

Potential by the boat loads, but I wonder if he will even know which team to line up for?

Just seems like there are too many question marks with this guy.

I dont know why there are a lot of people thinking we are going to trade up for him?

I see him going to us in mocks at like #11 and giving up a 2nd, 3rd and 4th rd pick and i just wanna shoot myself.

I'm going with Lane Johnson here. BPA.

The fact that there are two LTs rated above Patterson on a big board for the Vikes, may suggest the same. I must still be out of the woods to what Joeckel and Fisher would offer the Vikings, that would be of greater value than Patterson.

Why?

Kalil isnt going anywhere, Loadholt is too expensive to demote to the bench and too tall to play OG.

He is the last blue chip player available. He is the BPA available and we can't just put WRs, CBs, LBs, and DTs on the board.

I think some are taking this from an overall big board perspective and others are taking it from a vikings perspective.

As far as Eric Fisher goes he could easily be a guard in the NFL.

So you would take Lane Johnson over other need positions at WR, DT and CB, just because he is the perceived BPA?

Where does Johnson play?

BPA makes no sense when the position does not fit a need in the least. The Vikes are set at both OT spots, and there is clearly enough talent in the top 20 to not have to take a OT just for the sake of doing so, even more so if it requires a position switch in which there is no basis that they could successfully play at the next level.

My interpretation of a big board is the order in which one would draft a player, unless I am mistaking what big board means to you.

This could be it, might be an overall big board and not a Viking big board but the title suggests Vikings' big board so it would seem it should be restricted to a true Vikings' big board.

I havent seen too many successful 6-8 OGs and has Fisher even played OG, I legit dont know.

Fisher played LT, RT, and RG as a freshmen.

He's also only 6'7 Wink

Thanks for the clarification.

Nevertheless, Id still put several receivers over him like Quinton Patton, Robert Woods and DeAndre Hopkins for the 23rd pick in the draft. Fisher might crack my top 30, if he has some potential to play OG, but i generally devalue guards anyway for the Vikings this year, so Cooper and Warmack would probably be slightly lower as well, despite appearing as better prospects.

Having Johnson above more need specific positions doesn't mean a thing. Big Boards aren't just used for this year. They are used down the road when trying to evaluate players. It comes into play when you're looking to sign or trade for a guy. What did you like or dislike about this guy, does he have the skills to fit our scheme, etc.
