2nd round pick for a proven player....good move for the Dolphins....especially when you consider Ireland's track record with second round picks.

Assuming the Milliner-to-the-Browns actually has legs, that means the Dolphins would have to trade up to #3 to ensure they get one of the top offensive tackles. That'd probably take their first, second, and probably a fifth and the Raiders would probably be having to take a discount just to move down. Could still be in a position to land Sharrif Floyd too.

I don't think people are looking at this rationally...why is KC willing to do it? A few reasons:
1. Albert is on the franchise tag and is likely unwilling to re-sign if he's not playing LT
2. The best pick for KC is a LT at #1
3. Rather than lose Albert and get nothing/a comp pick...might as well get a 2nd
4. Albert will be replaced by the #1 pick
5. Albert is unwilling to play RT

It makes a lot of sense if you think about it.

Don't worry. Sean Payton would pass the ball in a Tornado.

But would he do it in a Sharknado?

Four Three Mafia nailed it. The Franchise Tag at LT is 9.8m for LT, and I wouldn't call Albert a top 5 LT. Albert likely wants 48-50m or more for 5 years. Luck got 4 years and 22.1m. I assume whichever LT will get about the same this year. I also predict both top LT prospects will be better than Albert, and presumably last in this league around 4 years longer.

Top LTs can be 10 plus year fixtures on their teams. Albert turns 29 this year. He likely has round 3 prime years left, and 1-2 declining seasons. So Fisher/Joeckel could be a 10 year All Pro at LT with the first 4 years at a bargain. Albert will be far more expensive and likely retiring as the kid will be hitting his prime.

Now you have a 2nd rounder. You have Matt Cassel as your QB and that didn't work. Keep in mind Alex Smith is still just turning 29 this May. As a QB he could have 5-6 years left.

1. Joeckel
2. Fluker
3. Jamie Collins

Book ends, veteran QB, and rush LB in one draft. Not bad

I don't think we need two active threads for essentially the same thing.
