Deal for #Packers' @ClayMatthews52 is five years, $66 million. The franchise tag for linebackers this year was $9.619 million.

five year extension right so actually money is 6 years 70 mil, right?

which only 11.66 something a year, not bad at all. Unless my math is off by a mile.

I would imagine that they tore up his old contract and the five years he is under contract for are 13 14 15 16 and 17.

its an extension not a new deal/restructure... hes ultimately under contract for 6 more years & im certain a nice chunk of his new deal will be earned this year to elevate future cap

The #Packers contract extension for @ClayMatthews52 ends after the 2018 season. It's five years plus the one remaining on his deal.

Yeah, the beat guys have been saying Shields is up after them. EDS will probably get an extension. Has there been any news at all on the Raji front?

6 for 70 is fantastic.

Von Miller and Aldon Smith are both going to shatter that, glad we were working off Ware's few year old contract instead of those that Smith and Miller will sign.

I'd say we'll have a better idea after the draft, if not season.

Clay Matthews will be speaking at Lambeau today at 4:30 PM Central

And yes signing Raji is a foregone conclusion. Might just not break the bank like Rodgers and Clay.

Nice numbers! Hopefully we put a pretty big chunk on this year!
