I would feel disappointed if we left tonight with Taylor at 30. Trade back a few picks with the top of the 2nd Round teams that need a QB. I don't see anything special that separates Taylor with the other 3 or 4 CB's that would be there at picks 33-40.

We could try to pick up an extra 3rd rounder if we trade back and turn that pick into another trade up in the 2nd for a DE.

Taylor is a TD type of guy. 4 year starter, defensive captain (not 100% but I think so), squeaky clean record on and off the field. He also did well at the Senior Bowl and the combine (probably his pro day too). That's why he sticks out, well IMO, to TD and co.
A lot of scouts see him as a safe pick too, which would make sense for a team like the Falcons.

Falcons need playmakers on Defense, not safe picks.

At CB, I disagree.

Werner/Carradine or Taylor will be falcon tonight IMO. REally hope we keep our 2nd and third rounders.

Samuel, Moore, Decoud, and Weatherspoon are pretty good playmakers. And we're overrun with them on offense. No need to take a risk.

EVERY player is a risk in the draft... especially at CB. I'd rather take a guy with a high upside.

We can keep shooting for solid B players and passing on potentially A players if you want... but I want to go for studs. If we want Taylor, trade down so we can either add another 3rd rounder or trade up using the extra pick.

Taylor is a projected first round pick by a lot people. He's been rising up a lot of boards.

I understand. He's also projected in the middle 2nd round by a lot of people. Bottom line is I'd prefer someone else at 30 and in general I would like to take shots at greatness rather than safe picks.

I think Taylor would be a solid guy to have out there opposite Samuel w/ BobbyMac in the slot. Not to mention DueceDuece can mentor him.

Fair point, but how do you know Taylor won't be great?
