Hearing the Falcons are trying to trade up from number 30 in the first round, and not, obviously, for a quarterback.

Xavier Rhodes or Tank/Bjoern are the targets, IMO

Trestman is a great coach but Cutler is already a pouty overconfident poo flinger. What more can he do with him?
Get him to fling poo more accurately and make better decisions when flinging it?

They'll all be available at 12!

We could use some extra picks... dunno about moving all the way down to 30 though... we'd need some solid compensation.

5 in the first 3 rounds and you need more?

Would be a bad move on their part, IMO. They already sold the farm to grab Julio -- if they move up far again (ie top 15), they're going to give away even more picks and force themselves into a corner even more in relying on picks/FA pickups to hit. A small slip up would hurt them a lot more than other teams.

Surely not another Julio Jones-esque trade?

I wonder how far up they are looking to move. Chicago have been vocal about moving down, Indianapolis need a 2nd Rounder and so do New Orleans. Perhaps St. Louis are willing to trade down again and look for picks in the future?

If I were them, I would sit right where they're at.

There's a very good chance that TE Tyler Eifert is sitting there, when they pick & I would take him.

You have a chance to go into this season with Tony Gonzalas & Tyler Eifert as multiple threats at the TE position. (Chase Coffman is decent, but not near the talent of either of those 2 TE's...he would make a good #3)

You know you're likely to lose TG next season anyways. Why not address it now, when you can? There's no guarantee there will be a TE of his caliber next draft.

Having Julio, White, TG & Eifert opening the field, would make that offense unstoppable, imo. Specially with Steven Jackson getting the rock.

Besides, don't the Falcons run a lot of 2 TE sets?
Maybe I'm wrong on that. But I thought they did?

I'm sure the Falcons have other bigger needs, but Tyler is going to be a heck of a TE.
And a TE is a QB's best friend. This would be huge in the continued success of Matt Ryan, imo.

Seems like a good thing to discuss in the draft forum Very Happy

LIS in the thread there, my guess would be a DE. Maybe Tank if he slips a bit.
