With the signings of Huff and Dumervil the Ravens are a team with few needs, a number two receiver, left tackle, strong safety, and middle linebacker. Given that we have 12 picks, albeit 4 compensatory and thus untradeable picks, I think it could make sense to trade up for a left tackle should Loeckel, Fisher, or Johnson fall to pick ten or lower. If the top of our draft looked something like below, I would be ecstatic.

1) Lane Johnson,
3) Kiko Alonzo / Jonathan Bostic,
4) Tony Jefferson
5) Cobi Hamilton

No. They go into the draft every year with few needs but never made big leaps in the 1st round like that. Baltimore has a lot of picks this year but only three in the top 100. All of the extra ones are in the 4th round and later which aren't valuable enough to significantly move up in the draft even if a bunch of them are packaged together with their 2nd round pick. Future picks are pretty much out of the question.

We're far more likely so see a trade out of 32 and a LT procpect in the 2nd or 3rd.

Moving up to 10 would take multiple 2014 picks.

Well not necessarily top 10. I think he's suggesting that if a Lane Johnson is there at 11-13, we look to trade up.

In terms of what the trade value chart says, that isn't the type of value this draft is going to bring back for the top teams. This isn't a very top heavy draft. This draft is similar to the 2008 draft where we traded back with the Jags from #8 (?) back to #26 and only picked up two 3rds and a 4th. So trading up 20 spots probably would cost us something like a 2nd and maybe a future 3rd/4th.

Personally I have Lane Johnson as a top 5 player in this class value wise. So if he's there at pick #12... I would certainly be a fan of trading up to get him at a reduced number. Something like:
1. Lane Johnson
3. TJ Mcdonald
4. Aaron Mellette
4. Gerald Hodges
5. Trade for future 4th
5. AJ Klein

Etc...

Teams that trade up huge like that nearly always regret it. No thank you. I'll take my chances on a 1 year McKinnie deal, or Armstead/Watson later in the draft.

I think that we should do some trading up in this draft we have so many draft picks there is a huge possibility a decent amount of our picks wont make the team making them wasted picks so why not trade up and make use of the picks. With that being said i would love to trade up for Lane Johnson if Diamondbull424 is right about the price a 1st 2nd and future 3rd/4th or a 4th this year i would do it in a second. LT is one of the positions that you almost need to have figured out to be a great team (not always but mostly). With Rolondo signed ILB isnt a huge of a need.

1. Lane Johnson LT
trade 3rd and 5th to move up in the 3rd
3. Robert Woods WR
4. Phillip Thomas S
5. Gerauld Hodges ILB
Trade our 2 6ths to move up to 5th
5. Joe Kruger DE
6. Michael Williams TE
7a. Braxton Cave C
7b.Sean Renfree QB

I'd rather we pick up Menelik Watson in the 2nd, possibly 3rd.

Rather trade up for Tavon Austin.
