what Ancient can educate the whippersnappers to this cartoon character and the relevance to this conversation...? who was his heroic counterpart?

Well idk if 24 is considered ancient, but that is Snidely Whiplash, from the Rocky and Bullwinkle Cartoons. He was always causing problems in Canada, where Dudley Doo-Right the mountie would thwart his plans, usually despite his best efforts to mess it up.

His relevance to this thread is a mystery to me though.

From IMDB:

Dudley Do-Right: Curses! Foiled again!
Snidely Whiplash: Hey! That's *my* line!

dang.

I'm okay with either Barry Sanders or Peterson.

But...Arian Foster is a big underdog. Maybe people vote him?

My guess is that it comes down to Peterson vs Sanders. Hopefully Sanders gets it then and we can watch the Lions be horrible Laughing

That, or maybe having a historic player breaks the curse? Think

The curse isn't even real...seriously. AP deserves the cover.

But the curse IS real. Have you read the previous couple pages to this topic? Sure, maybe AD can beat the curse, but maybe not. What kind of risk are you willing to take?

Choose wisely, we wouldn't want any tears of purple.

What curse bestowed itself upon Calvin Johnson?

He felt sore after every game?

Had a few minor injuries?

Was shut up maybe once on the year?

The curse was made up. No such thing ever existed.

I'd like to see Peterson win it, but I'd much rather see an underdog or an old school player win it.

However, every year its another offensive player. Outside of Ray Lewis and Troy Polamalu, no other defender has made it.

Frank says it's not just a curse on the player, but also the team he plays for. last year the Lions' record dropped significantly from the year before.

'cuz they wuz CURSED!

lol.

just sounds like people are trying to spin this curse any which way to make it actually sound like a "curse".

The whole thing is bogus, and if Adrian wins it, and ONLY has 1500 yards rushing, 15 TDs and doesn't win MVP (even though the Vikings make it back to the playoffs), he'll still be "cursed".

People will believe what they want to believe, and they will tell them themselves that no matter what, they are right.

oh...whatever.

I think Adrian will win. He just pummeled RG3, and he's definitely more popular than Foster.

A Peterson/Sanders split cover would be pretty cool if they're gonna have old school player on it, but that's not what they're going for.

I would consider that to be "breaking" the curse if AD actually did that.

I think Adrian is the kind of player to break the curse. He defies everything else. A part of me hopes he does, another doesn't. Regardless, it will probably not affect him, but the curse might just take a year off then. It is real though. GO look it up.
