Where the heck are we coming up with the money for all this?

I've not heard or seen any contract extensions, contract pay cuts or anything.

Even as cheap as White, Grossman are, we were like $100.00 dollars under the cap. lolol

Are we paying these guys with "Movie tickets" or "vouchers"?

only the 51 largest contracts count against the cap until the roster hits 53 (maybe sooner, but I believe it's the day we have to be at 53)

Also, I read last night that we are now a million over the cap...

with a restructure to just Orakpo it is my understanding that we could drop down to about 10 million under the cap. (I believe I read that on FF....can't find the link)

that'd be cool. I hope csn or wash post has an article about our cap room out soon.

I'm not really surprised we re-signed Grossman, I had heard we might a few weeks ago. Still if pat white looks half way decent and he's cheaper, I hope we keep White.

I hope your right.
I don't like Orakpo being on the last year of his deal, coming back from an injury.

Nows the time to either sign him to an extension or move(trade him) him.
Not wait, while he possibly explodes and wants 200M off a 20 sack season. lol

And since his value is probably way low from the injury to get any fair value for him in trade, you almost have to resign and restructure him.

The good news?
We can probably get him for a 4 or 5 year deal at a very affordable cost because of his injury.
While dropping his 2013 numbers, so we can sign all these guys, sign our draft picks and have Orakpo already under contract.

So if he explodes with 20 sacks in 2013, he's already got a deal and cannot rework it again after just 1 season. (have to wait 2 years to do it again)

If he gets injured again and gets the injury prone label by us fans, he's under a modest 4 year deal that doesn't destroy us cap wise.

I'm sure I'm looking to much into it, as with RG3's injury we need training camp bodies and have Cousins, Grossman & White participate while RG3 heals, shouldn't seem to be out of the ordinary.

White knows the read option & Grossman knows the traditional Offense probably better than anyone on the roster.

But a few of us, are wondering if there isn't a possible trade in the works for Kirk Cousins?

You have an average QB draft class at best. (that's why we are seeing these QB moves as of late)

One can't help but wonder if there isn't a deal on the table for Cousins, that we aren't mulling over.

Or maybe a draft day trade?

I wouldn't think we would trade Cousins with RG3's injury and how well he played last season & under the adversity he was under to boot.

But then, why would Grossman sign here?
He would have to know he's now the 3rd string QB, with what Cousins did.
Is he fine with that?
Is he comfortable as a 3rd stringer here?
maybe so....

Or maybe he knows something?
Maybe he knows or as heard plans from the coaches?
Like they possibly are trading Cousins for draft Pick(s), while he can retain the backup job under RG3 or even start till RG3 is ready? (cause White isn't starting)

I'm not saying this happening, by why would Pat White or Grossman sign, when they know when RG3 comes back, one of them is gone.

Cause we ain't carrying 4 QB's.
(unless Cousins is being moved and they know it)

If Cousins isn't being traded...
Then Pat White is camp fodder and I take back my thoughts (before grossman signed) about him being a lock to make roster.

Because even I, don't see white beating out Grossman)
Grossman is too safe a choice, over white. Knows the Offense probably better than RG3.
(As RG3 is still learning I would presume)

Giants have Matt Painter.
You would think White would take his shot against him, when pat White was scheduled to visit them?

Niners have Kap & now Mccoy.
Their 3rd is Scott Tolzien.
Pat white don't think he can beat him?

If we do cut White after playing him throughout training camp and/or pre season (which I think would be a bad move...unless he sucks real bad)

Giants or Eagles(49ers/seattle) will have him scooped up, faster than you can sign your name.

4 QB's...hmmm

Can't believe I've never heard this:

"Bring Rexy Back"

I wish the were more references to INTs. But all in all, funny. And relevant!

The time to below the cap was before free agency started. The Rule of 51 is still in play. any contracts that are the lowest on the roster dont count toward the cap. The largest 51 do though. With Grossman at 920K that might be one of them, but not sure.

I would think he's on the cusp and probably counted. He'd certainly be counted way before Pat White

As I said in the other thread, for cap purposes, he's only $575K.
