We signed Daimion Stafford, FS, Nebraska:

Big dude, 220+ pounds, projected late round pick. Here against our 6th round pick, Joseph Fauria.

I'll be on in a few hours and ready to make some claims if you guys need me to take a shift. Just send me some more targets and I'll keep an eye on them when I get out of class (should be done in like ~3 hours).

Can you do the next few?

I came back and took John Youboty, who oakdb is high on.

Our next pick is after 8:18 PT. Here are the players left on sundance's list:

C Joe Madsen
C Matt Stankiewitch
OT Braden Brown
C James Ferentz
DE Dave Kruger (Joe's brother)

I would add

OLB Travis Johnson
RB Stefphon Jefferson

sundance and I have been making the picks we wanted, so why don't you take who you want Jamethus.

I claimed Alex Dunnachie, P, Hawaii.

That's right, you guys let me make a claim and I took a freakin' punter. Cool A big-legged guy to compete with Marquette King. He has a history of drinking of driving, but for our umpteenth UDFA claim, I didn't think it would hurt.

Catching up:

Gilbert Pena, DT, Ole Miss

Another big, fat guy (6-3, 330) for the DLine. After years of having multiple UT and 3T types, Pena is now our third run stuffer on the DLine.

Mike Hermann, QB, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

As sundance mentioned, a physical freak: 6-6, 257, 4.82

Jason Weaver, OT, Southern Mississippi

6-4, 313, 5.29. Projected 6th - 7th pick. Another OG/OT type for camp competition.

Stefphon Jefferson, RB, Nevada

Doesn't have the measurables, but was productive with 1,883 yards and 24 TDs.

Positional Overview

QB- McKenzie has made it clear the QB position "starts with Flynn". He's gonna be the starter. I like Pryor and wish him the best but he's once again fighting an uphill battle. Henne makes sense to bring in as an established backup.

RB- DMac is upgraded with the scheme change alone. Bell has the upside to be a starting running back, and a good one. I think Stewart brings a little more to the table than Jennings right now.

FB- Reece is an asset that I hope is more often utilized than he was last year. I'd like to see him get more snaps out of the slot. Bohanon could line up as a traditional FB when Reece gets moved around.

WR- I see Moore and Streater as a young duo of pass catchers that could be serviceable this year with potential to be great; they're the obvious starters. I see Ford as strictly a slot guy on offense while getting the starting nod as return guy. He really needs to stay healthy. Criner has the big body and high point ability to get regular snaps in the rotation and could really challenge to start. Jasper Collins owns most of the career records (37 TD) at a Mount Union program that has recently turned out Pierre Garcon and Cecil Shorts. He looks to be a good fit in the slot as well as a sneaky return guy.

TE-I'm putting Gordon in as the starter by default. He's a blocking specialist and could come in to help the run game. I see Fauria as the true receiving option at TE for our squad. He'd mostly see opportunity in third down or goal line situations but could be a weapon. Ausberry makes this final 53 but I wouldn't be surprised if he hadn't proven enough by the time final cuts come around.

OL- We "justified" taking Fischer at 3 by claiming to plan to play him at left tackle. In all reality the team would be better off by sticking with Veldheer for now in that role. Either way, the tackle tandem looks like one of the best in the league if everything comes together as planned. Barnes could be a proven vet in the middle of a large offensive line but wouldn't be more than a stopgap that's getting another year. Unfortunately, we're stuck starting Brisiel at RG if Parsons can't take the job. Wisniewski looks to be a solid lynch-pin for a long time and could have the flexibility to play guard at a high level if needed. Watford, a solid technician, and Foketi, a high upside guy bring youth and potential to the depth of the line. Barron makes the roster as an experienced, if limited veteran presence. Nix could surprise and make the cuts.

DE- Houston might be our best player and unfortunately he is best served on the strong side. A feared pass rushing threat is void as an aging Andre Carter battles one year wonder Mincey. Kruger could be a very good player in a year or two but currently doesn't project as an impact rookie. Any contribution from Hunter would be welcomed, most likely as a rotational player. Crawford would likely be a final cut, but could make the team with a strong camp.

DT- I'm much higher than most on the Vance Walker signing. Falcons fans were not happy to see him go. Sims could be a great run plugger if he can stay healthy. Jenkins was a solid pick to help the tackle rotation stay fresh. Bilukidi showed some good things in limited snaps last year and could develop. Pena is another run stuffer that would be stuck on PS for the season. He was a solid UDFA pickup.

LB- Roach and Kevin Burnette are obviously going to start at MLB and WLB respectively. Maiava and Burris would compete for the SAM spot. Goethel would finally make the team if he could finally stay healthy. Sabino is a developmental guy but could put it together to have a solid career.

CB- Jenkins and Porter will be a CB tandem that will gamble more than anyone else's squad. McKenzie is doing the same on them. Hanson would be the favorite to start at Nickel but Adams and Bushell could push for a competitive (at least internally) defensive backfield.

S- This group still looks very rough. If Branch bounces back to his 2011 form, we've got one solid option on the roster who could play either position. Young would provide below average, but not terrible starter level play. Nakamura is depth that you hope not to see play outside of special teams. AOA is a player that I plugged into this spot but it's anybody's roster spot at this point as the fourth safety; including Stafford and Reggie Smith.

ST- Jano will hold it down once again. Lechler is gone, we all hope King can be capable. As evidenced in the San Diego game, someone needs to know how to long snap in case Condo goes down.
