I don't remember what positions there are, but I do remember that they didn't really matter Laughing
Sign me up for something. Scout or something.

no free agency, no cap. Just trades and the draft.

I will be in and out but will do what I can. I don't like all the cap tracking stuff but trades and draft are good for me. Just let me know what you need filled.

Glad to see we're getting some interest. I suppose the first thing to do is talk strategy. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a fan of player trades in the NFL. They tend not to work out as successfully as trading a guy in baseball or basketball. That being said, I've gotten a preliminary inquiry on Donald Brown, Delone Carter, Jeff Linkenbach, Mike McGlynn, Jerry Hughes, and Joe Lefedge.

Honestly, the only one I'd consider letting go would be McGlynn.

I like Hughes as a third rusher and think he really improved last year in the new scheme. I'd say he was about as effective as Freeney. I like him as Mathis's back-up and he's still cheap. Ballard, Brown, and Carter form a solid running back by committee group and this isn't a very good RB class. Link is a capable back-up and Lefedge is a special teams ace.

I think we should try to keep it as realistic as possible! Try and get a few draft picks right!

Donald Brown is about the only player I would think about moving personally! Like was said above though, all 3 RB's together is pretty solid group!

OK, before starting up a draft board (which won't be publicly posted in this thread, sorry guys) , I'm not going to try to predict which 23 players will be taken ahead of us so I'll just make a list of guys who I think will certainly be gone. Keep in mind that I'm no expert on college football. Most of these lists are based more on what I've seen from others mock drafts. Some of the players I have read up.

Likely gone before our pick.....
QBs - Geno Smith, Matt Barkely
RBs - Eddie Lacy
WRs - Tavon Austin, Cordarrelle Patterson
TEs - none
OTs - Eric Fisher, Luke Joeckel
OGs - Chance Warmack
OCs - none

DEs - Bjoern Werner, Barkevious Mingo
DTs - Sharif Floyd, Sheldon Richardson, Star Lotuleilei
OLBs - Dion Jordan, Jarvis Jones,
CBs - Dee Milliner, Leon Sandcastle, Johnathan Banks
FSs - Kenny Vaccaro
SSs - none

So that is 18 legitimate players and one pLOLayer.

I'm also going to make a small list of guys who just aren't good fits for what the Colts do/players who aren't sound picks based on the Colts current roster
1 OLB Alec Ogletree - more fitting as a 4-3 OLB
2. DE Alex Okafor - 4-3 LDE
3. TE Tyler Eifert - With Fleener and Allen already on the roster taking a first round TE is stupid
4. TE Zach Ertz - see Eifert
5. QB Mike Glennon see Eifert but replace Fleener and Allen with Luck and Hasselbeck

I'm obviously open to others opinions on who might not be around when the Colts pick and who is not a good fit for what we do.

I think Okafor actually does fit in the 3-4. I think he's can be a similar type of player to Walden: occasional pass rush who is more effective against the run.

Here is my top five:

1- DE Ansah
2- OG Cooper
3- OLB Jones
4- ILB Teo
5- CB Trufant

Ansah and Cooper are pipe dreams. I really don't see either making it out of the top 15. Jones would great improve our pass rush but I doubt he gets pass Pittsburg. Teo is a toss up he could go to either Chicago or Minnesota before our pick. Of the 5 Trufant has the best chance of being there when we pick.

Ansah- I can see him being a very disruptive force from line in a couple of years. I want to compair him to Watt but I'm not sure that would be fair to either player.

Cooper- He would round out our new and improved line. He would start from day 1 and be a Pro Bowler in a few years.

Jones- He is a very special player who wouldn't have a chance of making it down to 24 if it wasn't for the injury concern.

Teo- He is a true leader. He is a very solid player. His understanding of what offenses are trying to do and his ability to get everyone lined up in the right place is his greatest strengths.

Trufant- He is a very good cover corner. Would give us a replacement if we cannot resign Davis next year.

Saw something earlier about Colts trading up to get play maker; ie Patterson, Austin!

But I would throw Jones in that mix!

I would be down to trade up or down!

and the guy not on the list was Justin Hunter!
