Strategy:

Since there is no salary cap, I say we trade for a proven player at a need position (DT/CB/RT) for the 14th pick. At 14, we are in No-Mans-Land as far as getting a consensus top player. I don't anticipate Lotulelei/Johnson/Milliner/Floyd falling to us.

or

Trade back to later in the first round/early second and accumulate more picks. We can use Beason/Williams/Hardy to help facilitate a trade.

Wouldn't move Hardy unless someone overpays. IMO

I understand he had a great year and I love watching the Kraken walk the talk but he is in his final year of his rookie contract. He already wants to be paid and he will ask for a huge contract next year if he has continued success.

I am trying to avoid the inevitable and sell while his stock is high. We do have Alexander in the wings and who knows if Hardy will have another career year (6 of 13 sacks vs SD/CHI).

I really want to keep him too but we can't afford to let him walk next year (ala Julius Peppers) because we can't pay him. If we can fill some needs or getting more picks by trading him then so be it.

I'm only on board with trading back. There is not many players that I would give us a first for unless they were a Pro Bowl talent at DT or CB.

RT Marcus Cannon + Pick 59

for

Pick 44 + Pick 108

Thoughts?

I have also proposed a trade back with SFran:

Quote:
1(14) for:

2(34) + 3(74) + 2014 2nd

I think it added up close to even on the numerical draft chart.

Is that too far back?

A little too far back for my taste

He played well when he subbed in for Vollmer. True RT and can slide into RG if needed.

Okay, here's my counter and my guys are for it and gives us both good value.

St. Louis sends

#22
#113
#184
RG - Harvey Dahl

What do you think?

I like this deal and I think its fair for both sides. Keeps us in the first round. Couldn't get a third but we got 4th and 6th instead. Rams have confirmed. I will submit this if I don't get any dissenters.

Also have these two to consider for Beason trade:

Quote:
MLB Jon Beason

for BUF

NT Alan Branch

or

Quote:
MLB Jon Beason + 2nd(44) + 4th(108 )

for NYG

2nd(49) + 3rd(81) + 7th(225)

Thoughts on either of these? I really like that we fill a huge need with Branch (28yrs old-6'6 325) . I like that we get a 3rd in the NYG one. Im kind of split.
