We don't know that. How much cap space we have depends on McClain's guarantees being voided or not. And even if they weren't, we should still have around 2.5M, which is enough to fit 2 contracts similar to Porter's if that's something we want to do.
I don't think we'll sign anyone before the draft but that's just because we'll wait to see what we can do there before we go spending cap room on more FAs.

How would we sign a starting quality CB with $2.5M and still have enough to sign rookies and UDFA's?
Give them a bigger signing bonus and backload the contract.

What responsible agent would allow that?

I'm guessing DMC gets restructured into a 2-year extension with the second year being voidable. I believe the Raiders are done at CB in FA and will address the position in the draft and McKenzie will hold on to the additional cap room for flexibility.

I get that. But the bigger signing bonus is still gonna eat into the cap.

We're getting 8M more on june 1st when Huff's cap hit (still counting at the moment) goes from 11M to 3M. That's how we'll sign rookies.

Yeah.

Any news on McClain situation?
Was it a post june 1 release?
How much is the actual cap hit.
From 7,26 till 10,895 I've seen everything...

At this point in Jammer's career, he might be better off at FS. Although that would still fill a need. I mean Charles Woodson revived his career as a safety and so did Rod Woodson so possibly that's what Jammer needs to stay relevant.

there is no point in bringing in Jammer. Jenkins, Porter and a few rookies should be OK at cb.

CB Tracy Porter's contract is for one year, with a base salary of $715,000.

Wow that was cheap. must have had no interest.

It's for a bit less than 1.2M with bonuses and up to 2.5M with "Not Likely To Be Earned" incentives.

What happens if hypothetically all of our guys reach their not likely to be earned incentives?

would it just affect our cap for next year then? or how does that work with a 1 yr deal?

Apparently, if you have the cap room to absorbe it, it counts against this year's cap, if not it counts against the following year.

And I don't think that matters much with the amount of cap room we will have next year. Wink

Better yet if these guys make all their crazy incentives we wont care about cap space cause we will be in the playoffs.

Or at the very least be competitive with something to be confident about in the near future.

Just read an article on this, because he was suspended those two games his guaranteed money was voided.

So the actual cap hit is 7.26 mill.
