We badly need another pitcher. Tomlin is a walking L every game.

We need a quality 3rd starter for the postseason, period.

*Kluber is lights out and a legit ACE

*Carrasco is a solid #2

After that:

*Salazar has been disappointing. I was really hoping he'd pick up right where he left off last year, and he hasn't.

*Bauer is "feast or famine" and your typical #4

*Tomlin is just atrocious. I love him as a person but not as a starting pitcher

I hope and expect to get that 3rd SP around the trade deadline. If we have three legit pitchers with our outstanding bullpen, especially the way this team is built offensively (and it's showing right now), then we're looking at legitimate World Series contenders. Without that 3rd arm, I'm very anxious.

I agree with you on everything. If we got a 3rd starter, I'd just put Danny in the bullpen until he's mentally better.

How would you guys feel about a trade for Alex Cobb?

If we got the 2013 and 2014 Alex Cobb then I'd be all for it.

This year he's very "Meh" with a 4+ ERA and his WHIP is up, but it also depends on what he'd cost.

He's still an upgrade over both Bauer and Tomlin and if we could get him on the cheap, then sure.

In a perfect world, this team would have a LH Starting Pitcher.

The acquisition this team needs the most would be would be a healthy Danny Salazar.

Not looking to give up Mejia or McKenzie for any rentals and I doubt they want to add any payroll.

If they do acquire any additional players I could see bullpen depth (Pat Neshek?) or a fringe starter to thicken up our depth (maybe like the DFAd Bartolololol if that happens) Their lineup is thick with solid starters and platoons so I don't see any hitters added unless there's an injury.

That Corey Kluber guy might be a solid player someday.

Quote:
Corey Kluber's awful June:

1.26 ERA
.150 opponents average
.204 opponents' slugging
43 IP (6 starts)
64 K/7 BB
41.3 K%

Nice that Santana and Kipnis picked the perfect time to have the worst seasons of their careers.

The only thing keeping us afloat offensively has been JRam, EE, Chisenhall, Brantley, and Zimmer at times.

I dont think they need any bullpen arms.

Its just like last year, they need to upgrade at catcher

Nice first inning by Salazar.

Boy do we need him, badly.

He had a fantastic outing yesterday.

They need to handle their pitching staff with kid gloves. They need to do whatever it takes to get into the playoffs while keeping those guys healthy. I dont care what seed they are. If Klub, Cookie, and Salz are healthy and the Indians have Miller and Allen. It might be lights out for everyone who goes up against them.

We saw what the Indians did with one healthy pitcher, what could they do with their trio

Can never have too many bullpen arms IMO and a guy like Neshek wouldn't be all that costly.

Turned out to be pretty accurate.
