Thats actually not as bad as it sounds. the gap between their 6th and our 5th is only 8 picks.

Yea we essentially traded down 8 picks to get them to take a 7th for Colt.

Yeah it's a solid move.
Basically a late sixth/early seventh for a backup qb making 1.5 mill with NFL experience. Backups around the league are getting much more.

I kinda wanted harbs to get another piece of clay though. Maybe next draft since there's only a year on colts contract.

I like this move allot. Colt was pretty much in a no win situation in Cleveland from day one, now he gets to come into a good enviroment and learn under Harbaugh for a year, at least, and it didn't cost the Niners much to get him.

I know you're joking but in the end i think we'll spend about 9-10 picks instead of 13.

Love the move. I think he can be a solid backup with right coaching and we have the best coaching.

I think we will end up spending less. I'd say 7-8 with the other 5-6 going towards trading up or future picks.

For a moment I thought we gave them a fifth and seventh and was about to be a little disappointed, but then I saw a us getting a sixth, so it seems like a good trade for both parties.

Could it be possible that Harbaugh is going to try and groom Colt into a badass qb in which we will trade him for a high [inappropriate/removed] pick in the future?

Boo hoo!

For that to happen, we would have to be able to showcase Colt, and that would only happen if CK got hurt.. so I hope not.

Overall, I just think it doesn't hurt to have a good back-up, and he's way more proven than Tolzien.

I think there's still a good possibility that Tolzien wins the #2 job. just because we traded for Colt doesnt mean he's guaranteed a roster spot.
