Heard from bleacher report then looked it up. Don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet but thought it could be interesting. Thoughts?

One-year deal for Hixon with the Panthers that will pay him more than $1m.

No thanks.
Either draft a future #1 or stick with Pilares/Adams.

I am all for giving Cam weapons, but Hixon we do not need as a return man and he is a sub par wr, I would take LaFell over him any day. Now Barden on the other hand is 6-6 and a tall weapon for Cam which we do not have. He did get lost behind the bigger named wrs in that Giants lineup and I would not mind bringing him in.

This. I would love to bring in barden to compete. I also think that atleast one of the following will be cut soon, Pilares, adams, AE. So there may be open spots at WR shortly

I would much prefer Hixon to Barden for reliability reasons mainly. When on his game, Hixon has shown the ability to be clutch on third down and would be a significant upgrade for us at WR3.

Barden, while an attractive option due to his physical skill set (tall, rangy, can box out defenders) and intriguing because we have no-one else like him at the position, just hasn't developed enough. If we can get him for a song, I'm all for it.

Adams/Pilares will be fighting hard for roster spots.

If Hixon had that great of hands he wouldn't be a FA right now.

I don't see how that can be when Smith's hands aren't the best on the team. It isn't a detriment but Smith, since 2010, tends to drop more balls than he'd used to.

Well we have to remember in 2011 and 2012 he still had to get used to a new QB who was a rookie at the time

Dont overrate smitty's hands. Dixon had two ACL injuries cam back last year and had an alright season, thats why hes still an FA.

The only one that may have better hands than him on our receiving corps is who? Lafell?

Olsen, "hands" down, has the best hands on the team.

And do you guys want Hixon or not? I'm inclined to say no if it means we don't take a WR in the first two rounds.

I didn't know he had two ACL injuries. In that case, it definitely isn't anything to do with his hands.

I'd still take him and it wouldn't change my stance on a WR in the draft. He'd likely be a camp cut.
