Free Agency (Remaining)

The free agency is essesntially over, however there remain a few names out there that could still have an impact on whatever team they choose.

Eric Winston OT

Eric Winston has narrowed his choices down to the Eagles, Dolphins, and Chargers so it seems a possible that the Eagles may be able to bring in a RT and push over Herremans back to guard. This move would essentially solve all the Eagles offensive line problems, as long as they can remain healthy and Peters comes back and performs at a similar level. Andre Smith is another possiblity since the Bengals have still not reached a deal.

NFL Draft:

Eagles trade the 4th overall pick and Vinny Curry to the Chargers for 11th overall 45th overall and 2014 first round pick.

Eagles trade Trent Cole to Titans for 4th round 107th pick and conditional 2014

1st round, 11th pick:

Dion Jordan- OLB/DE

I believe the first player the Eagles take if they do not trade out of the early first round will be Dion Jordan or Dee Milliner. The Eagles can greatly influence the stock of Oregon prospect Dion Jordan because if his former head coach can pass on him as a projected top 5 pick, than other teams will certainly take a second look. The Chargers move up to grab their bookend OT in whoever is still available out of Joeckel, Fisher, and Johnson. As a result the Eagles get the player they want at a lower pick, meaning less money, and also give themselves some options in next year's draft to either address a few needs in the first round or trade up for a franchise quarterback.

Round 2, Pick 35:

Jonathan Banks- CB

Jonathan Banks may not slip into the 2nd round, but there are anywhere from 3-5 potential first round cornerbacks that have been projected in the first round. Either Trufant or Banks may slip into the 2nd round, and although there are teams with needs at CB, many of those teams have two capable starters and can address the secondary later in the draft when other needs are present. I have the Eagles taking either the best available corner or Safety, however due to the amount of talent at safety and the premium on cornerbacks in a division with RGIII, Manning, and Romo, taking a cornerback like Banks who is 6'2" and extremely physical and fluid in motion, will give us a potential shutdown corner in a completely revamped defense and secondary.

2nd rounnd, 45th pick:

Eric Reid- S

There are plenty of options at S in this draft, but Eric Reid presents a good mix of physical traits and coverage ability, Cyprien and Vacarro will most likely both be out by the 2nd round, and this picm will give the Eagles some added depth and future starting potential as both Allen and Coleman have been replaced.

3rd round, 67th pick

Justin Pugh- OG/OT

Justin Pugh has already visited the Eagles and seems to be a mid round target for the Eagles to add some quality depth and potential starting ability for the offensive line that has faced continual letdown and injury.

4th Round, 101st pick

John Jenkins- NT

The Eagles add Jenkins to back up and learn from Isaac Sopoaga who is 31 years old and may only have a few years of productive play left. Jenkins can come in and simply learn the NFL game and step in as the big body whenever ready or needed.

4th round 107th pick

Vance McDonald-TE

McDonald posted some great numbers at the combine and may not make it this far even if he is a projected 4th-5th round pick. Kelly loves options for his offense that no one seems to be able to figure out atm, and hopefully we see similar results while developing the new offensive scheme. Either way the genius of Kelly's offensive gameplanning will be in good hands with McCoy, Brown, Jackson, Maclin as the playmaking options and speed guys. Bringing in the double TE set similar to New England's seems to be a part of the new gameplan,

5th Round, 136th pick

Jon Bostic- ILB

The Eagles have addressed almost every position in the draft, and adding another quality ILB to keep Kendricks and Ryans on there toes is just what the Eagles need to make sure the players play to their potential.

7th Round, 210th pick

Mike Catapano- DE

Smart kid from Princeton (go figure) who was one of the most dominant defensive players in the Ivy League, he adds depth to one of the most athletic front lines in the NFL.

Depth Chart:

(R)- Rookie

Offense:

QB- Vick, Foles, Dixon
LT- Peters, Reynolds, Winston
LG- Mathis, Pugh(R), Menkin
C- Kelce, Reynolds, Tennant

RT- Winston, Herremans, Kopa, Wang
WR- Maclin, Jackson, Benn, Avant
TE- Celek, McDonald(R), Harbor, Moore
RB- McCoy, Brown, Lewis
FB- Casey, Igwenagu

Defense:

LDE- Thornton, Geathers, Catapano(R)
NT- Sopoaga, Jenkins(R), Dixon
RDE- Cox, Geathers, Graham
LOLB- Barwin, Graham, Brown
LILB- Kendricks, Bostic(R), Chaney
RILB- Ryans, Matthews, Phillips
ROLB- Jordan(R), Hunt, McCoy

If we could take Trufant in the second, I'd love this. Not a huge fan of Banks but not sure if Trufant makes it to the second.

I originally did have Trufant instead of Banks, but yeah either one of them happens to fall then I don't doubt that the eagles would snatch them up.

If Vance and Jenkins both make it to the 4th round I would be shocked.

Not bad but I'd rather have someone who can play DE and tip Thornton out of a starting job. Either at #11 or #35.

I highly doubt Jordan makes it out of the top 10.

Not a huge Reid fan. Wouldn't hate the pick but not in love with him, very hit or miss.

Highly doubt Jenkins or McDonald drops to the 4th.

Bostic and Catapano are solid picks, but we have 4 7th rounders, 1 of which can't be traded due to it being a compensatory selection at 239. Didn't see you trade any of the other ones either.
