Assuming we stay put...With this Slauson signing today, are there some guys that you think may be there at 20 that you wouldn't have taken prior to the signing, but would think about now?

I want to get a feel for how flexible you guys think this allows us to be, having now signed to LBs and a capable starter a G.

It opens us up to...

WR Tavon Austin
OG DJ Fluker
C Jonathan Cooper (hopefully)
LB Arthur Brown
CB Jonathan Banks

It opens us up to a ton of options...all depends on who is highest on the board now.

one guy that I wouldn't have thought about before, but might be tempted with now, if he falls, would be sheldon richardson.

I think Alec Ogletree is going to entice Phil Emery too much to pass up. I'm mixed on the kid.

He will entice with his potential...but I just can't get on board with him at #20 with his inability to play the run and his off-field issues.

I don't see him getting past Carolina at #14

I feel the same way. If we're going LB in the first, I really only want Brown.

Mike, what do you think about CB, I feel like its really a pretty deep class, and I'd prefer us not to go there first round?
I see it like the oline class, where you could pick up a nice player in the second or third.

As do I, but I think it would be a bit of a reach. I think if we don't take him at 20 and the Vikings don't pounce on him, I think he may fall.

He's an adept blitzer, which Mel Tucker would utilize in his defense, and he has the athleticism to play the deep middle.

I'm not sold on the kid, by any means, but I won't be surprised if/when he's on the draft card.

Out of the 4 realistic options I see…WR, OL, LB & CB…CB is by far the least likely IMO…because as you said it is a deep class…I reckon we could get some solid talent late on…I also think Isaiah Frey could play a solid role next year.

Mel Tucker's base is still the "Cover 2" so doesn’t expect to see a ton of blitzing...even with that skill he still struggles to play the run when he is directly ran at...

I also think he goes to the Giants at #19...Jerry Reese loves athletes as much as anyone.

I figured a FA guard was the plan all along so it doesn't change much imo.

I think if Warmack or Cooper are still on the board there is a good chance Emery grabs one, especially Cooper to potentially play C. That would be a MASSIVE overhaul of the offensive line.

LB and CB could still be strong considerations.

I love Cooper and Warmack, don't get me wrong, but is Cooper the type of player Kromer likes?

He seems to prefer bigger bodied guards, not necessarily the pulling athletes like Lance Louis (clearly).

Just some food for thought... I wouldn't be shocked if Cooper is sitting there at 20 and we either draft someone else or trade down.

If we did draft Cooper his long term future would be at C...at 6-2" 310lbs he has plenty of size for that spot in any scheme.
