I like Matt Scott quite a bit if he's there in the 4th...

Matt Scott could be the bears C.K.
Stop. Go watch CK @ Nevada, then watch Matt Scott. Not. Even. Close.

It would be a great stretch, but he's an athletic kid with a strong, strong arm.

I wouldn't mind grooming him behind Cutler for the next few years, let Trestman coach him up and then see what happens down the line.

Ill pass on Matt Scott

As a developmental prospect? What don't you like?

The hype is there right now. He has an arm and is mobile. However, he is going to have to adjust ALOT coming into the NFL(The way he plays and a new system). I think the comparison to Seneca Wallace is fair. His mechanics(happy feet) are an issue. He will probably be overdrafted and I hope we arent the team to do it.

He is, and that's where our QB Guru head coach comes into play. I'm not looking for a finished product by any means (I don't want to invest that high of a draft pick). I want raw talent that can be honed and sculpted with NO rush to be ushered onto the field.

Aaron Rodgers was broken down and completely rebuilt coming out of Cal... (no, I'm not saying Matt Scott is Aaron Rodgers).

The point is where your going to have to take Matt Scott we shouldnt do it.Not for a project like that.

That's where we disagree... I think taking him in the 4th or 5th would be perfect (assuming we don't have a higher ranked prospect on the board).

Assuming he is there
Scott will be there it is questionable whether he is even drafted.

QBs always get overdrafted. I wouldn't be surprised if he went late 2nd to mid 3rd round.

It isn't impossible for the entire league to suddenly go mad but not too likely. You really think there will be 10 or 12 QBs drafted in the first two rounds? It would be more likely 6 or less and Scott is not close to that six. He has started for one year and is a long term development project at best.

His arm and mobility make him appealing. This happens every year. A QB we think will go low goes higher than expected. I'm not a Matt Scott fan. But this isnt relatively new news that he might get overdrafted. There have been rumblings of this for a few weeks now.
