At 6-1, 270 pounds, he's a bit of a strange fit for the 3-4 system, they must be moving him to OLB.

Don't like the signing as he is built for a 4-3 DE IMO.

At his size, it is most likely to fill in for Rob Jackson during his suspension.

Good depth signing. I always thought he'd be a good fit for the 3-4 OLB position

he'll play OLB, not DE in our scheme

He's too short and too slow to play OLB though. You wouldn't put him in at DE during nickle packages either because pass rushing isn't his strength. Unless he's primarily a special teams player I don't see him making the team.

I was a big Tapp fan at VaTech.
He was so disruptive there.

He hasn't found the same success at the pro level, but I like this signing.

He's a good person and a hard-worker.
He'll bring professionalism and will compete.

If he makes the team, cool.
If not, I'm glad they weighed him as an option.

These are the type of signing that happen when the cap space is so limited.

Its probably just for the 4 games and then he'll be inactive. By the rule of 51 his salary does not count against the cap. Its fine.

neither had any of our other OLBs before they made the transition. Well I guess Orakpo did as a
Slb in 2009 but he was very, very raw on the field and it was obvious.

He's going to be fine and unlike Slateman, I don't predict our players getting hurt so he'll just be depth.

I also think he has a good shot to be on the team all year even when Rob Jackson comes back. He's a veteran who's helping to replace what we lost in Lorenzo Alexander, just like Kehl is.

Also mknight, there are plenty of 3-4 OLBs and rush DEs who are his height. Again, he'll be a reserve. It's a decent signing for depth.
