Improvements across the board, IMO.

Agreed.

I do find it intriguing, however, that while we did see Jared Allen's reaction to the helmet, we have yet to get a glimpse at the new headwear.

These new numbers have about the same amount of trim as VD got in college, presumably. Sleeves look great so far. Can't wait for the full reveal. Hoping against any surprise chain or mesh designs or accents. Simple dark and menacing will do just fine.

Isn't that double stripe similar to the Seahawks sleeve? I could be mistaken.

Not really.

I think the overall concept is much closer to the 49ers jerseys

You can see the shoulder pad end about half way through the white line, to me the stripes look like they sit at the top of the arm, right below the shoulder

What are the main differences from this jersey that Peterson is wearing to that of the new jersey?

I loved the older Jerseys. Anything similar to that is amazing.

I was referring more to the overall concept, not just sleeves. While there may be a difference in the stripe positioning its not a major difference from the 49ers jersey.

Look at where the stitching is located compared to the stripes:

Now look at the stitching of the 49ers jersey:

The stripes are above the stitching that runs to the neckline.

I think the stripe location is a near perfect replication of where they are on the 49ers jersey.

No one really knows since we haven't seen the new jersey.

Ah, I see. Thanks for pointing that out, seems to be the exact same jersey model.

I gotta say, they've made the waiting process a lot more fun this year.

The Jaguars and Dolphins are set to unveil their new logos/uniforms around the same time as well.

All the moves I think are meant to signify the culture of where those teams come from, or where they stand now (Jacksonville and the military, the Vikings and our culture, and the Dolphins attempt to not have a cartoon be their logo. lol)

I'm in the seemingly tiny minority that didn't want them to just go back to the "throwbacks", and while it definitely looks like the new unis are headed in that direction, it does look like they're not completely "old school" and do have some fundamental differences from the throwbacks (mostly the sleeve stripes and the stitched-on numbers, as opposed to printed-on). It also looks like the pant striping will be a modern take on the older version...

My biggest hope right now is that they don't go to a grey or white facemask - I don't know what it is, but I just can't stand those, especially the grey ones (I think they come off as something of an affectation - trying to look "old school" because that's what teams were limited to in color back in the day, when there's plenty of better options available now, colors the team back then would have likely chosen if given the option). Really, purple is probably the only realistic color choice I'd be happy with; I've seen some of the mock-ups with gold and haven't liked them, and black would be difficult to see them using because the color isn't used anywhere else on the uni.
