Patriots are signing WR Michael Jenkins.

***Update***
Quote:
Michael Jenkins' one-year contract with the Patriots has a max value of $855,000 and includes no guaranteed money.
He didn't even get a signing bonus. Jenkins can earn $15,000 by reporting to offseason workouts, but will have to win a roster spot in training camp before locking in his $840,000 base salary. If the Pats see anything they don't like from Jenkins in the offseason or training camp, they can release the 31-year-old essentially free of charge. He'll be squarely on the roster bubble.

Good competition for the end of the WR group. Wouldn't be a terrible #3 WR, as long as the Pats can get a better WR to start along with Amendola. He's tall if nothing else. I don't think he's anywhere near guaranteed a spot, though.

Jenkins is a very good run blocking WR for what it's worth and offers some threat in the redzone because of his size.

I saw that some Vikings fans had good things to say about him on the thread i posted of him been released a while back, said he usually came up big for a first down catch on 3rd downs.

He's just 30, not extremely old... with that said, no guarantees he makes the final roster.

Anyone remember WR Sam Aiken? Jenkins is a better version of him. Still not what I wanted but he's good depth. Still need a good #1.

Aiken was a very good player on special teams, not sure how good Jenkins is at that area.

Hopefully just a camp body. He might be the slowest WR in the NFL. Other than height, he doesn't offer much.

Aiken was at least a good cover STs guy. Horrid WR.

Don't see the point. He's just a bad player...

"Molasses Mike". He better not make it out of camp. He has size with no ability to separate anymore. Do we really need guys with just height with Gronk on the roster?

How was he a first round pick?

No way he makes the final roster. Depth signing, nothing more.

That draft was chock full of overrated WRs.

You can say that about plenty of guys every year with 9 seasons of hindsight.

Looking back at any draft that you didn't follow closely is always hard.

Maybe it's a mistake, and they actually signed this Mike Jenkins to play guard:

One can hope, anyway...
