Quote: | "It's very appealing," Heyward-Bey said Wednesday, according to mlive.com. "Number one, (Stafford) is a great guy. I've known him since we were coming out in the draft. We worked out in Arizona together. Just the ability of him to throw the ball and how smart he is, and coach lets him do his thing back there."
"The sky's the limit," he went on. "Adding Reggie (Bush) with Calvin, Matt, (Brandon) Pettigrew, (Tony) Scheffler, all these guys. You still got the vet, Nate (Burleson). You got the young guy, (Ryan) Broyles, who is coming off an injury, but still brings. It would be nice to be a part of something like that. I just got to sit back and think about it." |

Would you be okay if he came on board? How much do you think he is worth?

I was thinking something like that too.
3 years for about 2 mil per.
He could very well be asking for more though.
Even if he gets a bigger offer elsewhere, it could be wise for him to come here for maybe a 2 year deal, eat up constant 1 on 1 coverage (assuming he doesnt disappoint) , and hit the market again. He'd only be 28 then. _________________ Team Stylish

3 years 7.5m with 1.5 year 1. Make 2.5 guaranteed overall, and his year 2 hit 2.0m. If he blossoms he's worth the 3.5 in year 3 easily. If not he is cut for free.
Tall, fast, something to prove....
Calvin 1,350 yards 13 TD
Burelson 700 yards 4 TD
DHB 700 yards 5 TD
Broyles 400 yards 2 TD
That is 3,100 from starting WR rotation without lofty expectations
Pettigrew 600 yards 5TD
Scheffler 275 yards 1 TD
Bush 350 yards receiving 2 TD
Leshoure 200 yards receiving 1 TD
That is roughly 4,500 yards 33 TD. Sounds about right with a nice run game
Bush 210 carries for 875 yards 4 TDs
Leshoure 175 carries 725 yards 8 TDs
1550 rushing, 12 TDs |

Why are you commenting on it if you have an issue with where this story was posted?
I don't see DHB signing anywhere for more than a season. He just got cut and isn't getting too much attention on the market right now, and he'll likely be on a year audition for a larger contract in 2014. _________________

We can leave this thread open for discussion. It's a DHB story, but it's different enough to hold its own. The other thread will fall to the second page soon, as he's already visited. _________________

Wonder if he offers anything as a returner or gunner on ST. _________________ Team Stylish |

He's never returned kicks or punts in the NFL. I'm not sure about college, but his return rating in Madden is only 57. _________________

You have to be able to catch in traffic, and that sounds like something he struggles with. |

Be a real sweet move if we could land DHB...
While he may not be the "perfect" WR, he does offer world-class speed and given that, he can stretch the field...with both him a CJ having that capability, teams are going to be forced to use both safeties in coverage leaving linebackers to cover TE and RB (Bush on a LB, I'll take that all day!)
CJ can't be constantly double-covered and DHB can be the second home-run hitter.
I think we could get him for 2-3 years, anywhere between $2 and $3.5 mil per.
Wise investment with huge potential return! |

they usually say it takes 3 years for a WR to blossom. Last year was year 3, and he made great strides. He still has upside and will continue to improve.
Burelson can stop running our end arounds now . He, CJ, and Bush would stretch the defense vertically and horizontally, Broyles, Pettigrew and Burelson would take advantage of the space in the middle.
Come to Detroit DHB! _________________
