With all the cuts we've made and might still make, who should we be targeting? Jano & Veldheer are obvious but DMC i'm on the fence about. After we resign our own guys who should be our top targets? Probably be better to do this after the draft but i was just looking at the list & figured i'd post it.

2014 NFL Free Agents

QBs
Matt Ryan- Atlanta (will get franchised)
Tony Romo- Dallas
Jay Cutler- Chicago
Josh Freeman- Tampa Bay

RBs
Maurice Jones-Drew- Jacksonville
Darren McFadden- Oakland
Ben Tate- Houston
Vonta Leach- Baltimore
John Kuhn- Green Bay

WRs
Hakeem Nicks- New York Giants (might get franchised)
Eric Decker- Denver
Jeremy Maclin- Philadelphia
Mike Williams- Tampa Bay
Anquan Boldin- San Francisco
Golden Tate- Seattle
Devin Hester- Chicago

TEs
Jimmy Graham- New Orleans (franchised)
Jermichael Finley- Green Bay
Brandon Pettigrew- Detroit
Greg Olsen- Carolina
Dustin Keller- Miami

OL
Michael Oher- Baltimore
Eric Wood- Buffalo
Jared Veldheer- Oakland re-sign
Dominic Raiola- Detroit
Alex Mack- Cleveland

DL
Marcell Dareus- Buffalo
Geno Atkins- Cincinnati (franchised)
Carlos Dunlap- Cincinnati
Justin Tuck- New York Giants (might get franchised)
Jared Allen- Minnesota
Justin Smith- San Francisco
Paul Soliai- Miami
Randy Starks- Miami
Brett Keisel- Pittsburgh

LBs
Clay Matthews Jr- Green Bay (franchised)
Brian Orakpo- Washington (franchised)
Brian Cushing- Houston (franchised)
Jonathan Vilma- New Orleans
Jason Worilds- Pittsburgh

CBs
Charles Tillman- Chicago
Tim Jennings- Chicago
Tarell Brown- San Francisco
Josh Wilson- Washington
Aqib Talib- New England
Vontae Davis- Indianapolis

S
Kam Chancellor- Seattle (might get franchised)
Troy Polamalu- Pittsburgh
TJ Ward- Cleveland
Malcom Jenkins- New Orleans

K
Sebastian Janikowski re-sign

I bolded the guys i'd target. Giants can only pick 1 between Nicks & Tuck to franchise, so i'd go hard after the guy that doesn't get tagged. Stayed away from QB's for now because if we draft one early this year, we'll definitely be out of the market for QB's next year.

Let's just revise it to reflect who will likely actually be available.

I can see the list looking more like that but Ben Tate will test the market. Texans will need to franchise Cushing and that would leave Tate the option to test the market, he'll be looking for a starting role and he wont have that in Houston

This is what will happen.

Regardless of the cap space, the design will be the same. Take care of their own players and build through the draft.

Reggie is never going to be involved in a FA spending spree. The great teams build through the draft and in bargain FA signings.

Packers, Giants, Ravens, Pats. This is the mold.

Case and point. Ravens signed Canty, Dumerville, Huff and Spencer all for the same cap space as keeping Boldin. That smart business.

Veldheer is a beast, he's not going anywhere. He will be signed to a long term contract.Jano is still a dangerous weapon in the Nfl and will be retained.

I hope we can give Jared Veldheer a big contract extension soon and look him up longterm so we don't have to worry about getting into a bidding war next off-season.

While I agree that we wont go on any huge spending sprees, that doesnt mean that we cant sign a big name here and there. I dont expect us to be going dream team on anybody, but I can see us taking care of our guys and adding a semi big name next year.

Don't we have to spend a certain percentage of the cap?

Yes, but there are lots of creative ways to get there. No need to panic and anticipate outrageous contracts.

Priority will be to resign our guys, McKenzie has said that his year about McFadden.

We will then be cheap as hell like we always do; same school of though as in Green Bay.

I dont see us spending widely on players even if we have cap room.
