Wait so which one is it? I hope it's the OP because that would be amazing towards the cap. Either way, much appreciated Gross.

Steve Reed ‏@SteveReedAP 2m Details on OT Jordan Gross' new deal. He will make $5.5 million this year and the contract automatically voids out after this season.

Steve Reed ‏@SteveReedAP 2m Gross was set to have a salary cap hit of $11.7 million this year, so this is a fairly significant pay cut. He'll become free agent in '14.

According to numbers obtained by ESPN.com, Grossís contract, which had been set to expire after the 2014 season, now runs through 2017. Gross was given a $4.5 million signing bonus to make up for a cut from $8.7 million to $1 million in base salary this year.

The restructure drops Grossí salary-cap figure for this year from $11.7 million to $4.9 million.

The new deal also drops Grossí 2014 cap figure from $10.7 million to $5.9 million.

In each year from 2014 through 2017, Gross will earn $1 million in base salary and heís scheduled to receive a $2 million roster bonus in 2014. His cap figure is $1.9 million for each of the final three years of the deal.

Either way it's about 7 mill cap savings for this year and more next year.

Steve Reed sticking with he will be a FA next year.

About time. Now tell Williams to take a pay cut or get cut and we're in an okay spot.

That makes more sense. The first post made it sound like he was giving up almost $13m. Still awesome of him to do this.

If it wasn't before, it is now - offensive tackle is arguably our biggest need now with Gross becoming a free agent after the season.

Gross has the option to void it next year from what I read. So he could stay

Gross made it sound like if he didn't restructure he would not be with the team. This made me believe that if they weren't keeping Gross, OT would have been our first round pick this year. Now with Gross signing this year we can focus on getting a WR/DT and then next season going with a OT if its necessary.

Gross is signed through 2017, he will only be making 1m per year. He will be making the same it will be signing bonus on his extension. Gotta love Gross for taking that big of hit for the team. Class act player if I have ever seen one.
