It's a smart move and gives us a bit more flexibility in the draft.

I would actually be kinda shocked if we end up drafting a LBer at all now.

Sweet!

So.... he wouldn't agree to a contract unless Spencer/Romo extensions were all but signed right?

They probably agreed in principle, but the deal won't become official until then, I would assume.

From what i'm hearing in Dallas they are closer on a long term deam with Spencer than Romo. As Romo is looking for $18 million a year, and not willing to give a hometown discount since this is his last contract.

This is a good sign for us. Durant gives us more time to develop guys like Albright and Wilber. If we could just sign Huff for FS we could really improve our team in the draft by focusing on the lines.

Bill Jones speculated (pure speculation) that we might consider dealing Wilbur. Sure does seem like we drafted him for the old scheme. If we could flip him for a 4th or 5th, I would probably do that. No need to let him become worthless if he's just going to ride the pine for his entire rookie contract.

In this draft, I would love an additional mid round pick. 4th would be ideal

I'm confused. Would Sims and Durant compete for the SLB spot at all or does Durant have the spot outright. I thought Sims was resigned because of his experience in 4-3.

Even if there is a competition i believe Durant wins. He fits the SLB spot better than Sims. Sims is a good insurance policy for the WLB spot if Carter goes down or if Lee goes down and carter moves to MLB.

Sims is a WOLB, or Will. He is not physically suited to the SOLB, or Sam. His small stature would make it hard for him to shed blocks and hold the point of attack against the run. Sims will likely be backing up Carter.

The Sam competition will likely be between Durant, Albright and Wilber.
