Sadly - I think its too late. More and more people have Austin going top 16 and even top 10. I've seen at least a couple of the national guys respond to questions about Austin at 20 to the Bears with a 'no chance he makes it that far' response.

I'd love to see us pick him up - I'm just starting to believe that teams have had him rated very highly for a while - and he wont be an option for us.

Yeah Austin's hype right now is at an all time high. His play making ability is going to be hard to pass up.

The issue that I have with him is that before the combine he was a second round pick according to pretty much everyone. Outside of confirming what we already knew (he is really fast) what has changed since then? Nothing.

I had him late 1st round. But his breaking tackle ability plus his speed is very valuable. I expect him to go to the Rams with their 1st pick.

With Austin on the rise, anybody see a chance Patterson is there at 20?
I don't see it happening, but I think I remember seeing thats who McShay was mocking to us, not sure how recently however. Thoughts on whether he'll be there at all or if he is, whether you would be ok with it?

WRs don't usually have huge impacts, but this would fit with Emery's emphasis on playmeakers, as well as what we've heard from them that they want to add a vertical threat.

I think Patterson is going to the Chargers at #11.

Its a possibility...a different player from Austin. Has good size and speed.

Where are his equivalents? In the NFL that is.

The best I have heard projected for him is to be another Percy Harvin and that is not good enough (unless you find a sucker to unload him on.)

He was a late 1st early 2nd (I'd put him about equal to Desean Jackson as a prospect, w/o the mental issues), his rise isn't so much do to his speed (which we all knew he was fast) moreso that he's so much faster than just about everybody else that was at the combine, the guys who were thought to be burners (other than Goodwin) really didn't time as well as many expected. I think his rise also has to do w/ the success of Randall Cobb and Percy Harvin. The NFL is finding a spot for the college ATH that didn't have a spot before.

Percy Harvin is an excellent comparison. Percy Harvin is extremely dangerous on the field. Thats why the Seahawks sacrificed picks for him. They arent suckers. They just like scoring points. Austin is extremely dangerous with the ball in his hands. He can easily break a tackle and take it to the house. He can also line up wherever you want him too.

There's no chance he goes top 10. The hype on this guy is ridiculous.
