I thought AR was our "automatic under 45," it's why I value the leg more. I guess a little certainty is a good thing though.

It's not really like Longwell was SUPER accurate tbough. I think he get's "added points" for nostalgia.
If my number are correct (feel free to double check) I have from under 50 yards as a Packer.....
Mason Crosby 136 of 165 82.4%
Ryan Longwell 213 of 255 83.5%

Welcome to Vegas Mr. Papagiorgio!

Good pick up. Crosby has to be A+ this year or his cap number is too high.

People get down on Crosby looking at his raw numbers, but MM trots him out there for long FGs WAY more than pretty much any other team, outside of maybe Oakland with Janakowski. He definitely did Crosby no favors last year. It was pretty clear Crosby was struggling from 50+ and MM kept trotting him out there. Eventually it got him inside his own head after missing a few long ones and he started struggling on the longer ones. There were interviews late last season where he said he took a week off during the bye week to let his leg rest and that helped him find his swing. Pretty much he was pressing too hard and getting inside his own head.

Personally I like that competition is being brought in, it always helps get the best product on the field, but I am pretty confident Crosby is going to walk away with the job no matter who he's up against, and I'm ok with that.

This is what I thought of the instant I saw the thread.

Not now, Russ.

I just think Crosby lost good contact to the ball last year he is actually a good 50 and under kicker.

That 32 yarder that he doinked vs Jacksonville this year really got under my skin. I don't see any reason that a pro kicker should miss one under 40.

haha I was at that game. But really you just have to make sure you really feel the ball, get as much contact as possible.

Cool, he was born on my birthday. Although I'm one year older than him.

can anybody confirm these numbers? if they're true, this contract is insane.

I don't think those numbers are right. I don't think anything has come out, but I doubt he even gets a bonus, TBH.
