From Charlie Campbell : http://walterfootball.com/draft2013charlie_1.php

1Cool Dallas Cowboys : DJ Fluker, OT, Alabama

Quote:
Dallas must improve its offensive line this offseason. Fluker makes sense for the Cowboys considering they like big, physical offensive linemen. Dallas is thinking of moving Doug Free inside to guard, but if Fluker needs time to adjust to the NFL, he could start out his career at guard before eventually flipping spots with Free.

47) Dallas Cowboys : Bennie Logan, DT, LSU

Quote:
The Cowboys have to land a three-technique defensive tackle for Monte Kiffin's defense. Logan is a good fit to compete with Brian Price for playing time.

80) Dallas Cowboys : Tyler Bray, QB, Tennessee

Quote:
Here, Dallas grabs a young understudy to develop behind Tony Romo.

114) Dallas Cowboys : J.J. Wilcox, S, Georgia Southern

Quote:
The Cowboys need a safety for Monte Kiffin's defense.

151) Dallas Cowboys : Mike Gillislee, RB, Florida

Quote:
The Cowboys could use some running back depth.

He doesn't have the 6th round pick. But what do you guys think of this draft?

I really dislike Fluker... he had problems pass protecting on a line full of future draft picks. His long arms kind of excuse the poor bench performance, but the rest of his combine performance was underwhelming. I'd much rather have one of the top guards, Vacarro, or a DL than Fluker in round 1 and then grab Armistead or maybe Long in Rd. 2

Looking at his picks I'd go:

Cooper
Cyprien
Barrett Jones
Chase Thomas
Mike Gillislee (or possibly take a chance on Lattimore instead)

Fluker is going to be an elite RG in the NFL. I have said this for 2 years now.

Based on the way things fall in this particular mock, here is what I would do.

1st Round: Has to be Cooper here. He falls to us at 18, and is a perfect fit for what we want to do here. I think we are past the whole "everyone on the line needs to maul" mentality. Cooper is a Callahan guy because he is athletic, versatile, and smart.

2nd Round: Logan isn't a horrible pick, but I would rather Jonathan Cyprien, Alex Okafor, or Eric Reid, in that order. All of the above are better than Logan, and as an added bonus, they fill a bigger need.

3rd Round: Ew. I don't trust Bray at all, at least not until round five. The BPA here is obviously Quinton Patton at this point, but I highly doubt he makes it out of the second in real life. Brian Schwenke would also make me happy here.

4th Round: I really do like Wilcox, but if we already address the safety situation, then I would like to try Chase Thomas as our SOLB. Leon McFadden also intrigues me, as I personally have a 3rd round grade on him.

5th Round: Really like Gillislee. Good pick IMO.

He's nowhere near athletic enough to pull, by what I'm reading, but I'll grant you I'm going by what I read, not what I see (which is to say, I don't have a scout's eye)

I don't mind Fluker but would strongly prefer Warmack (especially at 18 ). All I'm saying is I want to bring the nasty back to Dallas. I want guys who will go up to the LOS and tell the opponent "I'm going to kick your arse," then actually kick said arse, and after the play... I want our guys to remind the opponent that his arse has been kicked. I want Dallas to draft nasty SOBs with bad intentions who other teams dread playing against.

I'd be really upset with this draft. Especially since Dooley and Bray did not get along.

and ours, too... Okafor was my 2nd choice in Rd 2, and I honestly believe he'd be a steal if we got him there.

I agree. I like his game. Nothing flashy, but he gets the job done.
