The Titans have reportedly signed Ropati Pitoitua. This one stings because I kind of assumed that Pitoitua would be re-signed by the Chiefs as primary depth at defensive end. He wasn't much of a pass rusher but was decent in run defense.

If we draft someone like Star Lotulelei this hurts alot less. If we end up trading Albert to draft his replacement then having a hole at defensive end could come back to haunt us.

So I take it Ropati was a decent player?

I think so. He played 3-4 defensive end for us and last year we played a 2-gap scheme. He is solid at the point of attack although not as consistent as you would like (but again, solid for a role player). I think his height does hurt him sometimes as he can get stood up. But when he plays with solid leverage he can hold his own.

As it stands now we have the following under contract :

Tyson Jackson
Mike DeVito
Allen Bailey

Shocked

Am I missing someone? And if so, they probably aren't worth mentioning anyway! LOL

We need to keep Albert under the 2013 franchise tender and try like heck to trade down atleast once in round 1 while still getting either Star Lotulelei or Ezekiel Ansah. Star needs to be the pick IMO.

My guess is (probably obvious guess) is we go DE other OL #1. Ziggy or Fisher would brass my two picks.

The positive I see to having Jackson and DeVito is that if we picked Ansah in round 1, we could work him in as a primary pass rushing 3-4 defensive end. It would be hard to justify the #1 pick being a rotational player right out of the gate, but I would rather see that than throw him to the wolves immediately as a 3-4 defensive end.

if it only took 1 mil not sure why we didn't bring him back. Thought he could do something in a 1 gap.

Nic, I would say that drafting Star would give us a lot of leeway as well. It's funny to listen to the people who are suggesting Star, half say we really need his true NT ability, the other half say how he'd be a strong DE to pair with Poe.

Tbh Id love to have Star or Ziggy line up next to Poe.

Maybe for the same reason the Jets didn't bring him him back, whatever that may be.

I thought he was a solid backup.
