I think the pick that cause the most debate was the Schwartz pick because everyone wanted other tackles at that pick and wanted a WRs too |
You think there was more debate over the Schwartz pick than the Weeden pick?
That's certainly not how I remember it. |
I remember a lot more debate that we picked the wrong tackle and that we should of drafted that overrated WR from GT |

Last year, most in the forum wanted Richardson, and we got him, so not much arguing there. Although since we traded up for him, yeah, we argued about that.
This year, I agree. There's not much consensus, and we will argue about the pick. Belittling Banner and Lombardi will just add fuel.
Should be a good time. |
Brandon Weeden caused forum wide debate lol |
You could say that.
The odd thing was that no one was happy with the pick at the time it happened. I mean, no one. But we still argued about it for months. | Wasn't there 1 person that ended up being happy about the pick because that person broke some news story saying that we were extremely interested in Weeden?
I also remember a few people that didn't like the idea of a HB in the top 5 (me being one) but I resigned to the fact that we were going to draft Trich and jumped on board once it was a guarantee (if I recall correctly about 5 days before the draft). _________________ Adopt-a-Brown: Emmanuel Ogbah - 52 Tkl - 5.5 Sack - 3 STF - 3 PD |

i remember him wanting to draft like a OG, OT, and another OG with our first 3 picks lol |
I think you are right. I don't mean that he was harping we should draft him, but he was giddy with excitement that we might because he knew it would tick guys off on this board. He was rubbing it in before and after the draft pick happened. _________________

I heard we are taking a LT in the first round.
got to have good depth.
Straight from the mouth of the furthest source away from the situation. _________________

Might not be a bad idea if we subsequently use him to trade down.
A stud LT might be better trade down bait than a QB, this year. _________________ Everything happens exactly the way it is supposed to happen...otherwise, it would happen some other way |

With Oakland releasing Tommy Kelly, I think it's officially a lock they draft a DT. Jacksonville can really influence the draft for us. If they take Geno, Philly would take Dion Jordan, which would mean we get Milliner. I am looking at potentially:
1. Joeckel
2. Smith
3. Floyd / Lotulelei
4. Jordan
5. Fisher
I think Joeckel is a lock, a DT at pick 3 is a lock and an OT at pick 5 is a lock |

I'm reading that if Jacksonville doesn't draft Geno, Oakland will. Carson Palmer's base salary jumps from $825K to $13M this year.
The trade for Palmer went down about two and a half weeks before Reggie McKenzie was hired as GM, so no doubt he's looking to unload that contract before the salary escalates next year and his cap number goes from $15.3 to $17.3
DT is OAK's Plan B, IMO.
They will no doubt resort to it, because the new regime in Jacksonville isn't going to be saddled with Blaine Gabbert, and rightly so. He's been atrocious, and those weapons they have deserve better quarterbacking. |
