He is an option because he is a player in the draft. At some point, he should be on our list. I'm not saying now but if he is our 20-25th player and is available at 36, we need to look for trade options.

I honestly can't see how you can say that, after saying this earlier in the thread:

This is just an overall ranking, right? Nothing to do with our teams specific needs?

In other words... This is "rank the players in a vaccuum" and not "rank them in the order they'd help this team", right? Or are we specifically talking about the Lions BB like the title suggests? I kind of got different vibes from the title and the content of the OP.

Joekel for #1 either way, but I'm just thinking for down the line.

It's the top players for the Lions specifically. Like I am assuming a QB won't find it's way on the list for a while.

Just sounds inconsistent to me.

I don't expect it for a while. And I didn't vote for him. But I put him in there with the line of thinking I explained. I think a guy expected to go top 10 should be on our big board at some point. Just saying I didn't expect a QB on our list for a while doesn't mean that it won't happen. But if others feel stronger with that line of thinking, then they should be able to vote for him. I put the guys on the list pretty much according to most mock drafts. The next ones I add will be those next on most draft boards. If they get votes they get votes, if they don't they don't. It doesn't hurt anything to have them as an option.

Plus if other people are voting for players not on the list, then you, X, or I can add them at any time. No big deal.

In coverage sure, but the guy isn't really dependable in the run game. Obviously in today's league that's not as big of a deal, but I doubt he'll ever become elite unless he seriously improves.

Is this one not moving along because of the confusion over the Rhodes thingy?

Eeek.

Way too high for Vaccaro.

I think a lot of us need to do some more homework.

Vaccaro will be the best safety from this draft class.

Maybe, but I don't believe he would be the best selection for us at this point in the draft. Trufant and Rhodes should definitely be higher on our draft board.

That and Rambo > Vaccaro

I do not know if Rambo is better than Vaccaro but I personally think that the difference between Rambo, Vaccaro, Swearinger, Phillip Thomas is almost nil.

I think Vaccaro is the most NFL ready, and has a skill that he's excelling at more so than the rest, which is in coverage.

I dont think he should be taken at 5 but we're creating a big board. If it was my board he would be about my 6th best overall.
