With the combine and many pro days having took place I thought it would be fun to see how the forum ranks the players in the draft for our team. Remember, this isn't who you want to draft at any specific pick.

If you choose other, please specify that you did and write the name.

When you vote, make recommendations on who you want added to the next poll.

We can keep this going as long as we still have participation.

1. Luke Joeckel, LT - Texas A&M
2. Eric Fisher, LT - Central Michigan
3. Chance Warmack, OG - Alabama
4. Dee Milliner, CB - Alabama
5. Ezekiel Ansah, DE - BYU
6. Star Lotulelei, DT - Utah
7. Dion Jordan, DE - Oregon
8. Jonathan Cooper, OG/C - North Carolina
9. Sharif Floyd, DT - Florida
10. Kenny Vaccaro, S - Texas

Joekel. No brainer with 2 OT gone and 3 starting OL

It's been Joeckel since the season ended and he's done nothing to change that opinion. The fact that Backus and Cherilus are both gone wouldn't really affect my stance on it, but if the Lions actually do put any weight to players based on positional importance, that definitely helps his cause.

I reluctantly chose Joeckel, because from the eye test Fischer is the better player.

Thing is Joekel really impressed me with fact he showed so much versatility by protecting two different style QBs.

I understand Stafford is starter but Joekel proved he could also protect a mobile QB.

This is just an overall ranking, right? Nothing to do with our teams specific needs?

In other words... This is "rank the players in a vaccuum" and not "rank them in the order they'd help this team", right? Or are we specifically talking about the Lions BB like the title suggests? I kind of got different vibes from the title and the content of the OP.

Joekel for #1 either way, but I'm just thinking for down the line.

It's the top players for the Lions specifically. Like I am assuming a QB won't find it's way on the list for a while.

Cool. I was specifically thinking of Star and Floyd... 2 guys that would be in my top five regardless of need, but certainly won't be if we're talking about our own BB.

Not sure how Ansah can be anyones #1 choice given the state of the OL.

That is just nuts.

Nothing and I mean nothing points to him being better choice over Joekel or Fisher

I think Reiff is a fine LT for us and I think his highest potential is at LT, so to me it just doesn't make sense to move him. That and I'm not too high on Joeckel and Fisher. Joeckel is overrated as a pass blocker and a little underrated as a run blocker, but overall is overrated and wasn't even the best OT on his team last year. Joeckel has a big problem with giving up on plays and also lets guys get inside him far too often (one of the biggest things that screws up Stafford is interior pressure). I like Fisher more, but not as much as I like Ansah. That and Ansah doesn't force anyone to switch positions (unless we play Fisher at RT).

So all these guys are overrated but somehow Ansah isnt.

Wow. Okay not going to debate it anymore.
