So the Bills just had a private work out for Geno Smith. The Jets should be looking for a QB, but can't spend a lot on one as they are stuck with Sanchez this year. Arians says the QBS lack the "Wow factor", unless it is a smokescreen. So here are two draft day thoughts if Smith is there at #7

Jets jump Buffalo: Jets trade for #7 and send #9, 4th and 6th
or
Buffalo is worried ala Browns/Vikings last year: Buff trades #8, 4th, and 6th

Thoughts

I could see Geno going before #7

I could too but given scenario that Geno is available at 7, I would pull the trigger on this trade immediately.

Possible, but by who? Jags only team I could see doing it that has a pick that high.

Not a spread QB for Eagles and the Browns are rumored to be after your boy Mallet for a 3rd.

That leaves the teams at 7, 8, and 9 with gaping holes at QB. And if we are not into Smith it comes down to Buff and NY.

Quote:
It was widely reported March 14 that Jets senior personnel executive Terry Bradway attended the West Virginia pro day, headlined by QB Geno Smith. Turns out that Bradway was accompanied by offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg. The Jets' contingent had some private time with Smith, and they came away very impressed.

If the Jets want him badly enough, I can't see them risking not trading ahead of Buffalo.

If Fisher (or Joekel) isn't there we should consider trading back. (Although I would much rather take Geno)
