Well to be fair, NBT lobbied hard to draft Torrey Smith.

The four-year contract will pay $8.25 million Vollmer guaranteed, and it will have a base value of $17 million. Another $9 million will be available in playing-time incentives and roster bonuses, along with a $1 million Pro Bowl bonus.

Wow, really? I don't know what I'm more inclined to believe is fake, these numbers or that brony profile in the irrelevant thread. Major coup if accurate.

I'm inclined to believe those are the real numbers. It's tough to peg the market value for a guy like Vollmer because of his injury issues.

We have the cap room and there aren't many big money guys out there, might as well give him a big cap hit this year.

Why did NFL network just show a headline saying Sebastian Vollmer to Packers???

Couldn't stay to watch the explanation.

Edit: Just looked online real quick and saw nothing but reports of him finalizing a deal with the Pats.

Perhaps my mind decided to play a dirty trick on me....

Not funny mind....not funny at all Evil or Very Mad

Awesome contract. If he can stay healthy, he should make those incentives easily, if not, the Pats are protected.

Ugh.

Love Vollmer as a player, but I hate tying up that much in him next year

We have the cap space this year. Gives the Pats more flexibility in the coming years when we might be more strapped.
