Real numbers on #Patriots deal with Vollmer are in (tho @ProFootballTalk had some yesterday). $7M signing bonus. 4 years/$16.75M base. So...

On Vollmer's deal: Pats protected team for injury: Has to play 80 or 90% to see extra $9.25M. If he plays 79% each year, just gets the base

For those #Patriots fans asking about Sebastian Vollmer's cap number. I'm told it's $3M for 2013.

Wonder what the numbers could be.

But I expect them to be reasonable.

Its crazy how he didn't have any interest in the market. The injuries must have scared teams away.

Good signing.

I really like Vollmer and if the Chargers had cap space, I would have loved him on the right side replacing Clary(granting I will take a bag of doritos over Clary at this point..... Laughing)

Yep, also age... he turns 29 in July, might also of been a consideration.

But the thing about Vollmer, he is a very good LT aswell, might actually be a better LT than RT. In case Solder goes down with an injury i feel confident in Vollmer taking over his spot.

I would suspect if injuries were as big a concern, the Pats would have not given him a 4 year deal.

He probably played the market and did not get anything better than what the Pats offered him.

Ya that's why I wanted the Eagles to go after him. With Peters coming back from an injury, we aren't sure if he is going to be 100%. It would have been ideal to sign Vollmer to play RT, but also play LT in a high level.

Either way, depending on the numbers (highly doubt Pats overpaid) this is a good signing for the Pats to keep the O-line in tact.

Want to see the numbers. If it isn't too much, I wish we would have gone after him. Think we get Winston though. Need Winston. Laughing

Yes, the Dolphins have hope.

Winston saves us from having to play Clary at RT in 2013.

Kept all our O-Linemen except Donald Thomas from last year. This is good news. It also removes the need to spend one of out few picks on a OT of some sort.
