NFL.com is reporting that he is visiting this week. Ranked at the 4th best guard last year, can we cut Bernandeau or Livings and have enough money to sign him? If we can, then draft Fluker in the 1st and maybe his teammate Jones in the 3rd and cut free that would be a fantastic head start to changing the OLINE

Brandon Moore? The OG that's been in the league for 10 years and apart of Sanchez's buttfumble?

While he would certainly be an upgrade over Bernadeau, we can't sign him unless we create some moore room under the cap. The Cowboys are only 100k under the cap since they restructured so many players instead of outright cutting them. As for the draft, Fluker isn't worth the 18th overall pick, Cooper, Vaccaro or Richardson are.

No thanks. Signing old players is a bad idea.

Depends on pricing, and years of the contract. 2 years 4 million? Sure.

Moore can still play. As a stopgap at RG, I am all for it.

Not another old guy on the line...but i guess that is the way the ball bounces in Dallas...u dont want to be an OL guy drafted by Dallas because ull never get a chance to play...uhh ya we have been developing him for 5 years now and hope he can before we have to release him or hits free agency...fine with me...sign FA to play on the OL and draft DL.

Peace

Seriously, can we just build an offensive line organically for once? How many FA guards have to burn us?

Seriously, the starting OL's of BAL and SF and PIT and ATL etc. consist of 80-100% draft picks. Why can't we emulate that instead of resorting to signing JAG's every year and pinning our hopes on scrub UDFA's like Parnell and Leary and Kowalski?

I am tired of short term stop gap solutions for the oline. Draft someone.

I have no issue with signing Moore, as long as it doesn't prevent us from drafting a guard in one of the top two rounds. OG's often have a hard time when settling in to the NFL, having two starting rookies probably isn't that big a upgrade before in 2-3 years, and with Romo aging plugging Moore in at RG and get a rookie LG gives us the best chances of winning IMO.

Because some people on this site think it is laughable to copy winning franchises methods. They would say something to the effect of "Oh look, they are winning, let's copy them!"

Personally, I think that mindset is laughable. I agree with you. Build thru the draft.

I agree we should build through the draft, but for the short term I would like this signing. We aren't going to replace all 4 spots this year in the draft and have to do something immediately to protect romo and get a running game. Also Pittsburgh is a bad example, their oline is awful.

Our scouting department pays little-to-no attention to offensive line prospects, so it's very hard to build through the draft when the mindset is go on the cheap every step of the way, act like we're "trying" to find o-linemen by throwing the occasional mid- or late-round draft pick at a player whom fans know isn't worth the selection, and then overpay a free agent when it doesn't work while publicly stating, "See? We tried. But dag gummit, it just didn't work."

And repeat.
