Who were you right or wrong about in prior drafts?

It could be guys that got drafted late (or went undrafted) and you knew would be good or the guys you thought would be good and weren't. Or high draft picks you thought would never make it and did.

Here's a partial list for me.

Hits: Jay Ratliff- loved him coming out of Auburn; thought he would be an ideal 3-4 end and should have been a 2nd round pick.

Marion Barber: couldn't believe that people thought Maroney was the better player.

Arian Foster and Dannell Ellerbee- Could not believe they went undrafted; loved both players

Vince Young & Matt Leinart- didn't think either were legit NFL QB's

Aaron Hernandez- absolutely loved him coming out of UF

Misses: Tyrone Calico- I was convinced he was the next TO

Matt Ryan- was not convinced at all

Vernon Gholston- hate to admit it, but his domination of Jake Long in "The Game" sold me.

Jonathan Wade- I thought he was the 2nd best corner behind Revis in 07

I thought Laveranues Coles would be better than Peter Warrick.

I also thought JPP was the next Gholston.

Hits:

I thought Cutler was vastly superior to Leinart and Vince Young, but I still didn't want him.

I thought Robert Meachem was absolutely terrible.

I thought Heyward-Bey was a 3rd round prospect at best.

I thought that Sanchez wasn't worth a 1st round pick, let alone a top 5.

I KNEW Jamarcus Russel would bust. We all did.

I thought that the Jets should have drafted Lamarr Woodley.

Misses:

I agreed with Gholston.

I thought Adam Carriker could and would be one of the best 3-4 DEs in the entire league for years to come. He's had an average career.

I thought Marshawn Lynch would bust.

I thought Usama Young was going to be a huge steal in the later rounds.

I thought Josh Freeman would be the best QB of his draft class.

I thought Ray Rice was going to be a special back

I know AP was drafted number 7 and a lot was expected but idk if people knew he'd be this good (I thought he'd finish his career as one of the best)

FAIL: I thought Vernon Gholston was the next Mario Williams (wanted DMC though)

FAIL: I thought Glenn Dorsey was going to be a beast

The most recent player I was completely wrong about was Percy Harvin. When it came out that the Jets had made an effort to trade back into the first to get him after drafing Mark Sanchez, I found myself seriously questioning the competence of the FO. Of course, it turns out that he truly is a unique talent in the NFL today.

That's why I'm trying to keep an open mind when I see mock drafts forecasting the Jets selecting Tavon Austin at ninth overall. Not that I'm hoping for that outcome from my point of view, but I think if that's what actually happens, I'm not going to immediately start second guessing the pick in knee-jerk fashion.

I can name millions . Here is a few.

Hits:
Alfred Morris (Even had him in one of my mocks)
Navorro Bowman
Sam Acho (Not a huge hit, but turned out to be a good player so far)
Aaron Hernandez (Watched him since high school)
Jimmy Graham

Misses:
Reggie Williams
Vinny Curry ( Even though I said only in a 3-4 scheme)
Mark Sanchez ( A QB with issues surrounded by issues)
Eli Manning ( I did not like him)
Vince Young ( Thought he was going to be above average)

A few of you have Justin Houston; that's a good one. I liked him alot also.
People often talk about the Miami's, Alabama's, etc; when talking about teams that put alot of talent out in the NFL but Georgia is right there also.

Along those lines I have another big miss: Boss Bailey.

I thought he was going to be a perennial All Pro as an NFL LB. Guy was freakishly athletic.

I thought Boss was going to kill in the NFL.

I was high on David Pollack and was semi right until he got hurt.

Erasmus James I whiffed.

Hits-
Aldon Smith, I LOVED him and wanted him so badly on this team. A lot of people on the board seemed to dislike him.

Lesean Mccoy, I really wanted him badly.

Ray Rice, same thing.

Doug Martin, same

Desean Jackson.

Darrelle Revis, I absolutely loved him as a prospect and was so happy when we drafted him. He was my favorite CB prospect that year by far.

A lot more but I don't feel like listing them and some were more obvious, also can't remember everyone.

Misses-
Matt Leinart, thought he would be good.

Reggie Bush, thought he would be special.

Mark Sanchez, I really hate being wrong about this one since we drafted him but I thought he was going to be a good one.

Darren McFadden, I thought he would be better, but he can't stay healthy.

Probably a lot more, but I'm tired and can't think right now.

Looked like a John Abraham clone. Injuries may have ruined his career like they did Pollacks.

I think we all hit on Justin Houston.

I missed on Brian Brohm.
