yeah. like i said somewhere else, not amazing or anything, but he's great depth, who has starting experience, and will be great for Special Teams/any instance of a bench-clearing brawl.

I actually really, really like this signing. Zbikowski is a night and day upgrade from Anthony Walters. I actually expect him to beat out Steltz as well, I don't buy that this was a special teams signing. Theres been recent specualtion of Hardin seeing time at the NB role as well as a rotational Safety. We'll see but this will most likely be a low contract providing good depth to our secondary.

Depth at S and more likely competition at KR/PR. Good signing as long as it cheap.

i agree, definitely could take Steltz's job. Not saying a ton, but still. The guy has seen starting time and he doesn't really blow you away, but he isn't a particularly a liability per se either.

The first two things that come to mind....they are probably looking at him as a possible nickel package guy and gunner. If that worked out, he would be a cheap replacement for DJ Moore.

So this should be the first year in years that the Bears wont draft a safety

Really solid signing, we really needed some depth at S and he can contribute on STs.

Jensen just tweeted he signed for the league minimum, so it's great value.

The reason all of these one year signings are taking place is that there is a "cap discount." It is SOOOO nice to finally have a REAL GM!

I like the Zbikowski signing for a number of reasons,

-Dirt cheap for a player that has started games.

-Impact special teams player.

-Starting experience.

-Fighting attitude that can make him a special teams captain.

Go figure when this is one of the best safety classes in recent memory when you look at the middle rounds.

I would still love to grab DJ Swearinger somehow.

Walters was brutal when he played safety, even in preseason from what I remember. For the league min., this is a slam dunk no brainer.

So now there are currently 8 safeties on the roster. Major and Conte are locks, Hardin I would assume. So the other 5 will battle for 1 MAYBE 2 spots
