honestly i think this might be a good thing. We have no depth at Linebackers right now. Sure he isn't the what he used to be but remember people said foote was past his time too and last year was one of his best years imo.

You guys are nuts, why would you ever turn down Urlacher in a Steelers uni?

Even if he is just as good as Foote, would you rather have Foote or Urlacher

id take Brian

Looks like the report comes from somebody of small journalistic stature. Big boon to the guy if he is right, but he likely is not.

Maybe we should just go out and sign a bunch of washed up veterans simply for the namesake.

And the bolded comment makes no sense at all. Hmm...who would you rather have...a guy that knows the system well, is cheaper and is a great locker room presence, or a guy whose going to be more expensive, has a greater chance of getting injured and offers nothing at this point that Foote doesnt?

Taking Urlacher over Foote does nothing for us. He is just a name at this point. His on field ability isnt even close to what it once was. If youre taking him, youre taking him for name alone....which would cost a few extra million for no noticeable improvement in quality.

Its like buying Nike over Asics. Pay 40 extra bucks for the same quality of shoe that will probably fall apart quicker than the cheaper one.

Ha I agree with you with you on the Foote comment. I am just a big Urlacher fan and being a homer.

However, you obviously know nothing around running brands because you make an awful point about Nike and Asics

How is that?

Honestly, Asics is the only brand I buy. I dont even look at Nike anymore and havent in 5+ years.

All I know is that I bought a pair of Nike's when I got out of the military and they sucked, and soon after I bought a pair of Asics and they were much better and $20 cheaper. Ive continued to buy Asics and they are always high quality, unlike Nike's I have bought in the past.

Maybe some hyperbole on my part, but I dont see how its an "awful point".

I buy one Nike pair of shoes every 2 years. They work good for me. Smile

Having said that I agree with 43's overall premise and actually liked the comparison even though Ive never worn Asics.

Im not sure.

Everyone has there own experiences with shoes.

I had a pair of Adidas' when I was in the military that tore up my feet and gave me shin splints. A friend of mine swore by the same exact pair.

Or maybe Nike has improved...Im not sure.

Anyway, it was just meant to be a funny comparison. In my situation it fits, but to others, maybe not.

Don't know how we got on running shoes but I'll throw my 2 cents in. I agree with 43's assessment of Nikes. Nothing special. Just a name (like Urlacher - that was a funny comparison) Personally, I love Saucony for running which have served me well in marathons and triathlons. Every brand represents some difference in stability, cushion, etc. Depends on your preference I guess.

How did this thread become the Home Shopping Network? Laughing

It was based on the comparison I made between Urlacher and Foote/Nikes and Asics.

Didnt know it would mushroom, though. Laughing

Bottom line, Urlacher really adds nothing at this point. We need someone who can take over for Foote in the long run, not someone who will retire before him.
