Quote: | The Eagles would use Ansah as the 5-tech DE in the base 4-3 Under. His role would be to play the run first and foremost. He wouldn’t necessarily have to 2-gap, but he would be setting the edge and playing under control. Once he read the play was a pass, he could then attack upfield. The Eagles could play him at DE or DT in the Nickel. Interestingly, they could use him as a NT in the Nickel if they wanted, leaving Fletcher Cox as the 3-tech. Ansah played NT for BYU in some passing situations and did a solid job. |
Quote: | I could see Chip Kelly liking Ansah because of his athleticism and versatility. Ansah could literally play all over the front seven in the 4-3 or 3-4. |

Wouldn't hate it. If we were still in a 4-3 I definitely would like it. _________________

I'd go with Sharrif over Star.
Sharrif (like Dion Jordan) is versatile ballplayer, and his engine never slows down. Many think he's the best player in this draft. I'd be surprised if he's still on the board at #4.
Find an Eric Winston or equivalent in FA and/or pick up a big, strong OT prospect in the 3rd round or 4th round.
Pick up another athletic and good-sized body for the defensive backfield with pick #35. |

I would love to know who thinks Sharrif is the best player in the draft. That guy should lose his job. _________________

Cosell said "arguably the best player in the draft" in his piece on DT on PE.Com. I'm not on the Floyd bandwagon but Cosell knows his football so who knows? _________________

If Jordan makes it to #4, that's who I want. If not, I'd like to see us take Fisher or Star. |

I honestly don't see the Floyd hype. Granted I don't see the Joeckel hype either. _________________

Star/Fisher/Dion/Johnson/Ansah in that order for me. _________________ 2013 Eagles Forum HOF

Dion or Star at 4. We can get a good Tackle at 35 I think.
Corner and Saftey depth are good enough to fill those spots later. |

Fisher/Lane/Star in that order. Would like Joeckel but I think he will go #1. _________________ 2015 Bird Watch: Byron Maxwell: The new Nnamdi "Toast" Fletcher

If Chip truly believes there is no sure thing in this draft, then it's even more of a reason to trade down. _________________

Also called Brandon Weeden the best pure pocket passer in the draft last year and said Santonio Holmes was a top 10 WR. Also had Jimmy Smith as one of the five best prospects in the draft and called him the best press-man corner in his draft that included Patrick Peterson and Prince Amukamara.
I value Cosell's opinion but he misses on his fair share of things and his opinion is not gospel. And I've watched Shariff Floyd intently, I loved him as a mid-late first rounder but this "best player in the draft" hype is out of control. Star Lotulelei is better in every single aspect of the game. Is Greg Cosell Floyd's agent? Sheesh. _________________

Never disagreed with anything you just wrote. I was just responding to the original post. However Cosell is not the only analyst to ever miss when prognosticating. He tends to know his stuff. _________________
