If the Orioles are contending for a playoff spot at that point, it's unfair of them to be forced into a scheduled double header to accommodate the Ravens. It's a potential competitive disadvantage for the Orioles and there is no difference for the Ravens other than the feelings of their fans/the media.

It's just as much of a potential competitive advantage as it is a disadvantage. Would this somehow end up helping the White Sox? I don't see how.

It's not in relation to the White Sox. It's in relation to the other teams in the race.

Double headers can be a headache for the starting rotation. And there is a significant possibility it means either bringing someone up from the minors to pitch a game (disadvantage) or someone will have to go on short rest (disadvantage), in relation to the teams in the race that get their normal pitchers on normal rest.

Frankly I have no problem with this. This is what a 3 year tradition in the NFL? And the idea that they need to open the season I don't get. It's nice, but a monday night game would work just as well.

They both have an off day June 1st. Move the game to Chicago. Baltimore designated home team and they keep all the profits. No double header, win for everyone.

No problem with this whatsoever. The MLB schedule has been out since 2012. The NFL can play the game on Wednesday or even Friday. Im glad the MLB didnt give into the NFL.

It's almost 10 years old actually.

Mines too. This is PURELY the NFL's fault. The people blaming the MLB aren't thinking logically at all. The NFL are the lazy scoundrels who KNEW the Orioles played a game on Thursday and INSISTED that the MLB change THEIR schedule, which was already out, to accommodate a game that they hadn't scheduled into that slot until much later. The MLB and the Orioles aren't responsible for this, the NFL is. This is just such disrespect on the NFLs part. On the one day where the game should be about the fans moreso than usual, the NFL chose to disrespect the fans and the city of Baltimore and choose a few extra ad dollars they'll receive from having their kickoff show on Thursday as opposed to Wednesday.

The NFL is just full of classless, indecent, money-grubbing, lack of integrity having people that are in prominent positions. The only reason they won't play the game on Wednesday is because they don't want to have to save face...

In terms of playing on Friday... that would never happen. Friday's are reserved for high school football and in many parts of the US, HS football is HUGE!!!... Friday nights are reserved for THOSE big games. It's actually part of the reason as to why the NFL decided to play their games on Sunday in the first place. Most viewers are off work on the weekends, which equals more viewer base, and since Friday's were traditionally reserved for HS football and Saturdays reserved for college, the NFL took Sundays... and then Monday... and then Thursday. But having games played Friday night would alienate a large viewer base and greatly limit ad dollars.

Thought someone said they share parking... add into that that they need a place in the area to do the pre-game concert.

So they share a parking lot.

Sack up and play it anyway.

Orioles fans won't be around in September to watch baseball.
